Hi, I’m extreme meteorologist and storm chaser, Reed Timmer, known for embedding myself into some of the most severe weather storms and scenarios imaginable, so that I can research, report and warn others before natural disasters strike.

While most prefer to avoid the bad news that comes with bad weather, I charge towards it; intercepting tornadoes and hurricanes with my armored vehicle, the SRV Dominator, and launching trackable meteorological sensors into their strongest winds. My team has deployed probes into tornadoes using drones, small aircraft, and even rockets, gathering measurements never-before-recorded on earth. Documenting all things related to atmospheric science is my passion.

I’ve been featured on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Netflix, The Weather Channel, Disney, PBS, AccuWeather and more! I’ve been featured on Jay Leno’s Garage, and worked with the legendary Richard Hammond, from Top Gear & Grand Tour. It’s insane where my weather career has taken me.

Thank you Mike Morgan for stating the importance of never stop chasing here in Oklahoma

I sure do miss the KFOR-TV days.

NOCTURNAL STRONG #TORNADO THREAT TONIGHT Eastern New Mexico toward Amarillo late!

A fast-moving squall line will organize late this evening across eastern New Mexico that will likely contain a few supercells. Given strong low-level shear developing tonight with the ramp up of the low-level jet, a couple of strong tornadoes will be possible!

Stay tuned to severe weather watches and warnings tonight.

WATCHING a #tornado threat on Monday PM across Kansas and Oklahoma. The NAM model is trending more bulbous with the upper-level storm system / vort max. Team Dominator will be activating full-blown storm chase mode November 2

I ran into an old friend today in Ohio! Steve Green the inventor of the Tornado Attack Vehicle.

Joel and I worked with Steve in 2002-2004 to guide the TA1 to a #tornado. This inspired the build of the Dominators

BIG SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE Monday, November 2 across the classic Southern Plains, including a threat of tornadoes.

A beautiful trough ejection is forecast early next week, with a large swath of 60s dew points in the warm sector. The favorable trough geometry will excite a vigorous low-level jet ahead of a surface low that will lift from the Texas Panhandle to Kansas.

We are hoping to chase in the Dominator 3 and execute a science mission. Stay tuned for updates

STRONG TORNADO POSSIBLE including Minneapolis this late afternoon and evening!

A rare tornado threat could materialize across central Minnesota into northwestern Wisconsin during 4-8 pm as low 60s dew points surge north across the North Country. We almost executed an all-night drive to chase this threat, but will be working on Dominator 1 today in Perkins.

Stay tuned to severe weather watches and warnings including Minneapolis-St Paul starting by 3 pm.

Never stop chasing

SEVERE WEATHER LIKELY NEXT WEEK November 2-3!

The most potent upper-level trough we have seen since spring is forecast to eject across the southern Plains and Dixie Alley on November 2-3. Instability looks a little marginal on the global models so far, but that is par for the course this time of year.

We are watching the southeastern Great Plains on November 2 and east across Dixie Alley on November 3 for the possibility of big severe weather and tornadoes.

Stay tuned for updates!
