Hi my dear bats, I’d like to thank you all for the positive reception of the regional playlists. This shows that our goth community remains free of prejudice, racism or xenophobia. I’m glad that everyone here is open-minded about different cultures and ethnicities—that’s what keeps the goth subculture stronger than any other. We’re a global community—whether European, Latin American, North American, African, Slavic, or Asian—everyone deserves respect, and we don’t condone hatred toward other nation, xenophobia, or anything else along those lines. I’m happy to know that together we’ve created a community as welcoming as our YouTube channel here; I just wanted to make this post to say that and to express how proud I am to be a part of this with you all. Hello my dear bats! How are you all doing? I just wanted to say that the channel has grown so much that it’s hard for me to respond to everyone. As you know, I’ve been running the channel on my own for a while now. So I’m going to try to post a “Midnight Answers” thread here every once in a while, where I’ll focus entirely on responding to you—your questions, doubts, requests, and so on. If you send a link, YouTube might filter the message, but I can sometimes unblock it. If it shows up for me, I’ll approve your comment with the link.

A thread dedicated to questions might make it easier for me to prioritize important messages, so I came up with the idea of creating this post; if it works out, I'll do this every week.

Hi my dear bats! Unfortunately, I ran into a problem with today’s premiere video—it seems YouTube detected that the video exceeded the 12-hour limit per video. I’m rendering a new video right now and will post it as soon as I can, but it might take a little while. So, for those who can only watch the premiere during the first time slot I usually post it, I’ll replay the video tomorrow. I apologize for this issue, I usually schedule it at least 3 days in advance, but due to a lack of time, I wasn’t able to do that with ASIAN DARKWAVE.

witch house and ethereal wave sound related, but they actually came from very different places.

witch house grew from late-2000s electronic music, mixing chopped & screwed hip-hop, dream pop, industrial sounds and occult/horror internet imagery. ethereal wave goes back to the 80s goth and darkwave scene, especially bands like cocteau twins, dead can dance and this mortal coil, using huge reverbs, dreamy vocals and atmospheric guitars to create that almost otherworldly feeling 🖤
