Thank you all for your support over the last 5 years. This is going to be a very personal post.
My 26th birthday is coming up soon. I often wonder if I'm too old to be fiddling around on my phone making music and writing songs about my life that I assume nobody cares about but me. I always think back to when I was 21 and I officially released my first EP in November 2021, and the chaos that ensued all the way through 2022 to 2024. I used to release at the VERY least 1 album a month, most of the time I'd release 2 or 3 things a month.
I've slowed down making music a lot these last couple years. I was so broken for so long, I can't describe the pain I was going through when I first started CØL. If you revisit my old music from Spring through fall of 2022, you'll hear the darkest parts of me. Some of those songs I regret making, but I only keep them up for the reminder of how far I've come. I started CØL to 1, document my mental health, and 2, cope with it. The last 5 years of my life is available to the world in musical form. Every major life event, every friendship that I had created and lost, every heartbreak, every relapse on my vices, every hospitalization, every vulnerable moment I have ever experienced is just... Available. That's a scary feeling. That is a huge reason I'm scared of my music blowing up and becoming popular. The darkest parts of me, the angriest, the most depressed, the most toxic pieces of me are just there to consume.
I am grateful for CØL. I've debated stopping this project plenty of times. But every time I try, something pulls me back in. I am a lot happier nowadays. I have a lot more going for me, I have a lot of love in my life. Occasionally something makes my life miserable, but I just write it down like I always have and move on.
Thank you to everyone who has ever listened to my music, to everyone who's liked or shared a video, to anyone who's taken the time to say something to me about my music, or encourage me in my dark moments. I know I say this project is mostly for me, but it wouldn't be worth it if I didn't see your comments or receive your support
Recently did an interview with @stygianarchivepodcast and it has been posted. We talk about a lot of stuff regarding mental health, my past, my background, CØL and OTS, etc. we got a lot covered. Go check it out!
"Shine, Shine" is out now. First CØL release in a while. I am really, really happy with this one. Every song i put so much thought into. A lot of love. And I hope you all hear and feel it.
I am so grateful for you guys who still stuck around after One Last Touch blew up. The reception on that song was awesome. And now that things have died down a little, I'm looking back and realizing how much anxiety that song, blowing up as much it did, gave me... I've never wanted to be too much in the spotlight. At the same time, I want to share my mind and art with everyone who's willing to listen. It's conflicting. Now that I'm back to ground level, the next step is seeing what I can do with my music to take it to the next level. It takes me a lot longer to write and compose and come up with ideas for music nowadays, the people who have been here from the start know how often I'd upload. It's infrequent now. Therapy has given me a boatload of new coping mechanisms. And I can't lie, at times my music was hurting me more than helping. I wanted to unleash every ounce of hatred, sadness, anger and hopelessness as I could in my music, and I've grown past that. I feel like channeling that energy into OTS is the better option.
I want to apologize to those who came here from "one last touch", I'm sorry if I misled you as to what CØL is. I am such a do-it-all artist, it makes my music extremely hard to market, and I've received feedback from people telling me to focus on one genre.
OTS is now my dsbm project, I will only be doing DSBM with that project now. CØL is electronic/ambient.
Anyways. I'm thankful for those of you who stuck around after One last touch. I hope my music and something to you because it means the world to me.
Hello all. A cover with special a guest vocalist Apeland, will be coming out shortly. The song is Morgondagen by Apati. I took a two back for this one, as I didn't know swedish but I really wanted to showcase our guest and E's work. I will be on all the other tracks. :)
New song from my DSBM project coming soon! It's available on Bandcamp though... If you wanna check it out? 🥹 Trigger warning on the track art though. Contains SH.

For those I'd you that missed our new single. This song is very reminiscent of old CØL, for those of you who remember the 2022 sound.

Is there any DSBM promotion channels that anyone is aware that would be willing to promote my band's DSBM album?
