I am a content creator who helps people build the confidence to explore nature and become the best version of themselves through outdoor adventures. I'm also an OAF, and that means more than just a big awkward person. When you acknowledge your insignificance and ignorance (i.e. that you are an OAF) next to nature, you paradoxically become open to being taught by nature. "The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool" ~ Shakespeare
On this channel, I am committed to bringing my knowledge as a hiking guide, a paddling instructor, a videographer, a teacher, and a willing learner to you through film. My videos vary from topic to topic, but I always connect everything I do to the outdoors. I post weekly, and I am excited to explore new areas and ideas as this channel grows. If you are also an OAF or would like to learn how to become one, subscribe and join the OAF family. See you out there!

Great day to remember a great video and poem! Tonight is the longest night of the year. Hopefully for you it isn’t the darkest. 😉

Looks like we've grown a little! It may not be much, but it's something. Looking forward to seeing where it goes next.

I'm still reeling from my trip to Crowsnest Mountain, that just happened yesterday. I have a pretty good idea how I'll tell the story - just need to shoot my pickup shots and edit it together. If you're a fan of my channel and you get my approach and philosophy about being an OAF, you'll love this short film. Look for it in early October :)

Hey OAFs. I'm looking for your input. I need a better logo that represents my Wedding Videography business. I like the logo I use for this channel - it's not going anywhere, but for my wedding & videography clients the logo gets confusing sometimes. Which of the logos below says, "I'd hire that guy to shoot my wedding"?

I made a demo reel! As some of you know, I've migrated my client videos (including wedding videos) to my OAF Projects YouTube channel. Because I need to apply for grants and promote my videography, I finally created a Demo Reel that highlights some of my favourite shots and shows off what I've done. Check it out:

Every year I get the opportunity to work for ‪@faceseducation‬ (I have been now for 15 years), and for the past 3 years I have had the privilege of being the lead videographer. Over the last two months I have been editing like crazy - tons of interviews, promotional content and more. If you're a fan of my stuff, you'll love what I'm cooking up for FACES, starting on March 1st. Check it out!

Hello all, and welcome new subscribers :) I'm looking to grow this channel in the best way possible, and I'd like your input. I've recently created a separate channel called OAF Projects ‪@OAFProjects‬ where I'll post my videography work separately (weddings, commercial projects) from now on, as it doesn't fully align with the theme of my channel. I also started a separate channel ‪@thenaturalclassroom‬ that focuses on Education and Learning, to keep that theme independent from this one. Moving forward, I'd like your input on what to focus on here, to make this place a place where you come to love and appreciate the outdoors, as I do, and to learn from one another. Where do you think I should take this channel?

Are you an educator, or someone who enjoys learning? Or perhaps you are an English nerd, like me! I've started a separate channel called ‪@thenaturalclassroom‬ where I am tapping into my strengths as a teacher (which I did for 19 years) and sharing some of my favourite lessons, tips and insights. I'm still just as committed to creating content here, and now that wedding season is slowing down, you'll be seeing and hearing from me a lot more. But if you want a different take on a topic that I have a ton of experience in, check out the channel: www.youtube.com/channel/UCLL_...
