I’m still on Break but I wanted to talk about what is going on in Brazil. Since one of my editors is from Brazil and I fear for their safety.
It is Election Season in Brazil (same as us, just one month apart and their Election Day is 10 Days Away.) and there is growing fear amongst the people that America could interfere or invade Brazil if the country doesn’t not vote for the Far Right candidate Flávio Bolsanaro. (Jair Bolsanaros son, and yes he is just like his father if not worse or so I hear)
And it’s not like this has not happened before-Shocking I know.
In 1964 The United States supported and aided a Military Coup against the left wing President João Goulart through various methods including Operation brother Sam and the result was a Military dictatorship ran by Generals Humberto de Alencar Castelo Branco, Artur da Costa e Silva, Emílio Garrastazu Médici, Ernesto Beckmann Geisel, and João Baptista de Oliveira Figueiredo that lasted until 1985.
During that time there was Censorship of the media. Human Rights Abuses and Torture. Most of which was taught by the United States government. There is so much more to this so I’ll leave links in the comments
Now in 2026 many Brazilians are once again fearing the prospects of both a Bolsanaro once again being in power or an American Led Military Government. Both of which would be detrimental to the Brazilian people
Now you are probably asking.
What can we do?
What we can do is stay informed and offer support to the people in Brazil including friends and family members who are in Brazil.
I say stay informed because many American news outlets have been suppressing the news about this issue.
Please don’t forget about Brazil and stay informed. Make sure you share this to spread the word.
For more information here is an English language article on the Brazilian Coup of 1964. You will see why people in Brazil are terrified
Hey everyone. I am gonna take a couple weeks off. There will be Compilations in the meantime.
The reason I’m taking some time off is because I have been having a lot of anxiety recently. Mostly because of the state of the world right now and I’ll be honest I am scared of what might come next.
That’s the main reason. I need to take a couple weeks off to forget about everything going on.
I assure you guys I am fine I just need to take a break.
This #RWBY Beyond episode is called Boba- When I first saw it I misread it and thought it was called Booba. Like were they about to make a bunch of Boob jokes at Yangs expense? But no it was called Boba and was a very sweet episode
