Welcome bookish buddies!💖 I'm a literary lover and book hoarder. You'll find reviews for an eclectic array of literary genres & a gravitation towards material discussing social injustices. Beyond my love of literature is my even more fervent love for the Interview with the Vampire adaptation, which has inspired me to create a readathon.
For the next two years we'll snoop onto the shelves of our beloved characters to keep us all motivated to read. Prompts will be provided with each character introduction. You can either read the exact same books I'm reading or make your own selection.
SCHEDULE:
Tuesday: Book tags
Wednesday: Short Book Reviews
Quarterly: Cottage Loons (once every quarter)
Quarterly: Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o - A Celebration of Life
Quarterly: Neighborhood Nostalgia
Books Gurrs and Purrs
I hope everyone is having a great weekend ❣️
The L.A. release of Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother had director & writer Bassam Tariq and John Cho in attendance for a Q&A session.
An audience member asked what is the take away from the film?
Tariq said, "although there is not one specific take away the film something to think about is, who is praying for you?"
Cho added, his character is focused on conforming others here on earth to prepare for the divine above, but ultimately the divine may already be here on earth.
On another note, I spent a little time at Zuma beach & it was gorgeous! The birdies were quite friendly. They probably thought I had food.

Big thank you to @Cobaltdragon for inviting me to her channel to discuss Blood & Gold by Anne Rice along with @stuartgriffin1001 . Spending time with the two of you is always so fun and thought provoking. I'd also like to extend my gratitude to each and every subscriber of my channel. I may have no clue what I'm doing, but each time you show up I feel so encouraged and motivated to keep going.
What's Next? Game Changer Buddy Read Series discussion is on the horizon with no date set yet. Sam & I will be discussing Role Model and The Long Game. The next book for my "Right Now!" segment is Birth of a Dream Weaver by Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o. The date is also not set yet, see keep your eyes peeled for those two live segments.
The last portion of my Interview with the Vampire Inspired Readathon will be taking place in November and December. I'm still negotiating with myself as to how many book prompts there will be. Four reading prompts seems more accessible, but there are eight books I'm dreaming of for this last segment, since it is the finale of my two year long running readathon, so we'll see how rational or delulu I get.
Last, but not least, thank you to @Vens_Book_Corner for carving out a future special feature just for meeeeeeee! 🫶

Fanpires! The Vampire Lestat, Episode 1, Detroit is out early! Let's get together this morning for a watch-a-long. Basically I'm going live to react as we all watch from our own screens at home. Keep in mind my channel is open for spoiler discussions/book readers of The Vampire Chronicles.
I will take a moment to rant about how AMC+ is burying this show. I had to click on IWTV, then scroll down past episodes and suggestions for other shows to find season 3 wayyyyyyy at the bottom.
Let's hope AMC+ fixes this a.s.a.p.
