An immersive Dolby Atmos® recording was recently captured at the State Music School concert hall in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, delivering a three-dimensional, reference-grade sound that places you as a listener right in the center of the acoustic space.

The sonic magic was engineered by Tadeusz Mieczkowski, who deployed an impressive array of 16 DPA Microphones alongside a custom Decca Tree array to translate every detail of the hall and instrument with utmost precision.

Pianist and composer Kamil Serefko played a pristine Fazioli grand piano that was meticulously prepared and tuned particularly for this session by Michał Twardy.

“At the Avon Theatre in Stratford this season, we’re using seven of the new DPA 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Mics across the lip of the stage for all four productions, and the results have been outstanding.

In previous seasons, our front-of-stage mics needed heavy EQ just to make them less noticeable. Even then, fan noise, colouration, and phasing between mics were always challenges.

The goal here has always been simple: every word heard clearly, without the audience feeling like the show is amplified. We call it “mixing in the bubble.
