I just learned something that I thought I would share for those who send super thanks to creators--which is SO SO greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, Apple AND YouTube take cuts when you use iOS.

When a viewer buys a Super Thanks on iOS, the revenue is hit with a "double cut" before it reaches your YouTube Studio dashboard:

The Apple Cut (30%): Apple takes a 30% App Store fee on the initial $19.99 purchase, leaving $14.00.

The YouTube Cut (30%): YouTube then takes its standard 30% fan-funding cut from the remaining balance ($14.00 × 0.70).

So the BEYOND wealthy companies take almost 1/2 for their pockets. If you would like to donate or send money to a creator, it's much better to use any links they may have so you don't just line the velvet pockets of the corporations.

Again, creators appreciate the support SO much and we are thankful for ANY gift, I just thought I would share this in case it's unknown. I had no idea until a little bit ago.

OKAY IT IS UP AND GOOD TO GO NOW!!!

Hey everyone...I have to take down the most recent video. The checks still aren't working and I won't get any revenue for it that way. All I can do is try again. I have no idea what is going on with it.

This means I don't get credit for any of the views thus far. If you feel like helping me out (wink wink) could you let it play again once it's back up. I'm not posting it this time unless the checks finish. I don't understand why it keeps doing this. There's nothing in it that would be causing it. It also means the nice comments that were left will also go away which makes me sad. Feel free to comment again if you want!

YOUTUBE!!! What is going on??

EDIT: I'm just going to let the video publish because I know there is no copyright material and a search says it won't affect my revenue as long as there isn't a flag once the check is complete. I don't understand why it's taking so long again, but it's frustrating.

YouTube is having issues again with checks. I'm trying to get a video up today but so far it won't finish at least one of the checks every time I try to upload. If the checks work, the video will be up at 4pm PST but not a premiere. If they don't work, it will be tomorrow at the soonest. They really need to get this figured out, it's not cool.

EDITED TO ADD: Looks like YT is STILL having issues with the checks. I've been waiting for an hour again and it is still doing checks. That's not typical. This video may have to wait until tomorrow.

Hey everyone! This week's premiere video will hopefully be on Friday instead of today. I have a lot to do this week! There will be a video out today at 3pm PST. YouTube is of course having issues again and as of this morning, checks were still going ALL night so I had to delete that upload and now trying again. Hopefully all the checks are complete soon with the new upload. They sure seem to be having a lot of issues lately.

Thank you again for all the support for our family! We REALLY appreciate it!

I will also be scheduling a LIVE tonight at 5pm PST! Hope to see you there!

This might make people roll their eyes. It might annoy people. While that is not the intention, I just feel the need to express the importance of critical thinking skills. Using critical thinking skills means avoiding making assumptions. It's about seeking out information by asking questions and actively listening. Verifying information by fact checking. Seeking as much information as possible before formulating opinions or making decisions.

What happens when critical thinking skills are lacking? Assumptions are made that lead to false accusations. Spreading false information. Forming opinions that are inaccurate. Ultimately making decisions based on inaccurate information, which could be detrimental.

So I just encourage everyone, please utilize critical thinking skills before commenting, before making accusations, before forming opinions, and before sharing false information. Not just here on YT, but in all aspects of life.

I had a live stream scheduled for today but just had to cancel. I am not feeling great and forgot tonight is the first Seahawks game so Quinn isn't going to karate tonight. I'll figure out when to reschedule.

Hope everyone is having a great day! Hope to see you all in the chat at the video premiere today!
