We got a strike! I put up a *Family Guy* Q&A from a convention, and Disney not only took it down, they gave us a strike.

If you don't know how YouTube's strike system works, it's kind of like baseball: three strikes and you're out. This first strike stays on the channel for 90 days, so as long as we don't get another one before the end of November, it should fall off.

Do I care? Yes and no.

This channel is for fun. I originally created it as a place where I could easily find the extras from my DVDs and Blu-ray sets without having to keep everything on my personal server, while also sharing them with all of you. So many times I'd look for one of these extras on YouTube and either it wasn't there, or the only copy was an old TV recording when I had access to a crystal-clear version.

That said, sometimes it does feel like this channel gets hit harder than others.

For example, I have a few Super Bowls in my personal collection that I originally downloaded from YouTube. Super Bowl XV had two different versions available, but each was incomplete. Between the two, though, you could piece together the entire game. So that's what I did. Since there wasn't a complete version on YouTube, I figured I'd put my completed version here.

Guess what? Flagged and blocked.

That's the frustrating part. The material was already circulating on YouTube, sometimes for years, but when I put together or upload a better or more complete version, mine can get blocked. I understand that copyright owners have every right to protect their material, but from this side of things, the enforcement can sometimes feel pretty inconsistent.

Anyway, I'm not writing this just to complain. I like letting you guys know what's happening behind the scenes and why certain videos might suddenly disappear. That's part of running a channel like this, and apparently, now we've got 90 days on the clock. 😬

I applied for YouTube Partnership, but the channel was rejected. They claim there's no original content because we only use clips taken from officially released media. Which is... 100% true. I honestly didn't realize that was against the rules.

So if you see ads on our videos, they're not there because of us. However, if you'd like to support the channel, I've started including Amazon affiliate links. If you use them, you'll pay the same price you would have anyway, and the channel earns a small commission. Every bit helps us buy more Blu-rays so we can rip and share even more special features with you.

Just venting a bit. So I wanted to add The Jacksons: An American Dream and it was immediately blocked by NBCUniversal (even though it aired on ABC originally). Here's the thing, I sourced it from YouTube, then went and enhanced the audio, and recut it into one part. Why do they get to keep their stuff up, while I can't even post it. Anyways it's worth checking out if you are interested in the new Michael movie. It gives a darker version of the same story. Wish I could have had it here.

As Shatner hires locals for starring roles, including his personal driver, the show pushes the town into increasingly bizarre situations to see how people react to the insanity.

Tried to add Jury Duty today but Amazon is less forgiving then Spike is with their footage. Well it's free on Amazon or at least it was and it's a lot like The Joe Shmo Show with the feel of The Office in how it's shot.
