You may not find an easier way to crochet a pumpkin than this. This pattern consists of one stitch, a Half Double Crochet (Us Terms) that is worked into back loops only. The size of the pumpkin can be easily adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of starting chains.

**Ch2 at beginning of row does not count as a st.
Row 1: Ch 17 (15ch + ch2), starting in 3rd ch from hook HDC in each ch. — 15 hdc sts
Row 2: Ch2, turn, working into back loops only HDC in each st. — 15 hdc sts
Row3-18: repeat row 2
Ch 1, bring both ends together and slst to join. Turn inside out.
Close one end, stuff, close the other end, then shape as shown.
