Grief teaches you how to keep going while carrying something that never fully leaves. Over time, you find ways to live with it, to honor that love in how you show up, how you care for others, and how you move through the world.
But today, my heart is also with the countless children around the world who are grieving their mothers in the midst of conflict. Children who don’t get the time, the safety, or the space to process that loss, because survival comes first. Because war, displacement, and instability do not pause for grief.
There are children learning to navigate a world without the person who made them feel safest. Children growing up too fast, carrying loss far heavier than they should ever have to.
No child should have to grieve their mother this way.
If you still have your mother, hold her tight. Call her. Sit with her. Say what matters, while you can, and for those carrying this kind of loss, in any corner of the world, you are seen, and you are not alone.
