We are Cristian and Verlene, and our children are Leo and Yaya. We have known each other since 2008 and have been together since 2010. We are here to share our humble journey with you.

What is a Modern Day Wife event without meeting new people, making new connections, and being surrounded by some truly amazing women? ✨💜
One of my favorite parts of this experience was getting to mingle with so many beautiful, smart, talented and accomplished women, including the gorgeous Shapellx models Shelly and yes, I finally got to meet one of my IG crush Jessie in person! 😂😍
But beyond the photos and fashion, there was SO much substance in that room. Doctors, entrepreneurs, attorneys, CEOs, business owners, chiropractors, plastic surgeons, creatives and women from so many different walks of life sharing their knowledge, experiences and perspectives.
I walked away inspired, motivated, and reminded of just how important it is to get outside of your usual circle, introduce yourself, have conversations and build genuine connections. They say “your network is your net worth,” and events like this are such a beautiful reminder of why networking matters. You never know who you’ll meet, what you’ll learn, or what connection may grow into something meaningful later. ❤️

It was such a pleasure connecting with Meghan Fialkoff, CEO & Co-Founder of Modern Day Wife, the Co-Founder of Shapellx, and hearing from the incredibly inspiring Chalon Clark, trial lawyer, interior designer & HGTV personality.
Chalon’s story especially resonated with me. While continuing to practice law full-time, she stepped into interior design in 2021, followed another passion, and ultimately found herself competing on HGTV’s Renovation Resort Showdown. A beautiful reminder that we are never limited to one lane, and it’s never too late to explore another gift, build something new, and take it to the next level. 👏🏾
Meghan was an amazing host, the conversations were empowering, and the entire What She Said experience was beautifully executed.
