Welcome to The Layman Apologist.
This is a space for everyday believers who want to think deeply, live faithfully, and stand firm in the truth.
I’m not here to entertain to gain views for the sake of it, I’m here to equip the Layman and honour God.
You’ll find solid theology, clear apologetics, cultural commentary, and content that pushes back against the shallow, surface-level noise of modern faith.
I tackle tough questions, expose false doctrine, and walk through Scripture — all from the perspective of a guy in the pew who refuses to settle for lukewarm Christianity.
If you’re hungry for something richer, older, and more rooted in Christ, you’re in the right place.
Subscribe, stay sharp, and contend for the faith.

Saint Athanasius on the Incarnation absolutely and indirectly destroys the Mormon god.
“Others take the view expressed by Plato, that giant among the Greeks. He said that God had made all things out of pre-existent and uncreated matter, just a the carpenter makes things only out of wood that already exists. But those who hold this view do not realize that to deny that God is Himself the Cause of matter is to impute limitation to Him, just as it is undoubtedly a limitation on the part of the carpenter that he can make nothing unless he first has the wood. How could God be called Maker and Artificer if His ability to make depended on some other cause, namely on matter itself? If He only worked up existing matter and did not Himself bring matter into being, He would be not the Creator but only a craftsman.
Such are the notions which men put forward. But the impiety of their foolish talk is plainly declared by the divine teaching of the Christian faith. From it we know that, because there is Mind behind the universe, it did not originate itself; because God is infinite, not finite, it was not made from pre-existent matter, but out of nothing and out of non-existence absolute and utter God brought it into being through the Word.”
I find it ironic that Mormons accuse Christians of importing Greek philosophy into the Trinity, while their own theology teaches that matter is eternal and “god” organised what already existed. On this point, their account of creation resembles the Platonic position Athanasius explicitly rejects.

Congratulations everyone, you’ve pushed us over the line and the channel has officially qualified for monetisation! Thank you to all of you who have subscribed, watched, shared and supported the work. I’m so grateful.
Once I’m moved into my new place and have everything set up, there’ll be a ton more content coming, along with exclusive videos and livestreams for channel members.
If you’d like to sign up and support the channel financially, I’d really appreciate it, but there’s never any pressure. Memberships give me a way to offer something back to those helping fund the work, and I appreciate your support however you give it.
I’ll still be chatting with everyone in the comments regardless of membership, for as long as I can keep up as the channel grows. Members will get priority in things like debates, but you don’t need to pay to have a conversation with me.
Thank you again, folks. I’m looking forward to getting settled and getting stuck into more of this with you.
Let me know what you want more off on the channel too by the way.
COMMUNITY GROWTH:
I’d love for us to get to know one another a bit more on here. I’ve barely used the community page because I was active elsewhere and honestly didn’t really understand how it worked or whether it had much value. A few other creators have helped me see how useful it can be.
Feel free to share daily thoughts, Scripture verses or questions, and I’ll share bits from books I’m reading too. Forgive the gaps between posts until I’m settled into my new place, which could still take some time.
I already have an awesome team of mods, but I’ll be adding more. If you’re a regular I know and trust and you’d like to help, let me know.
God bless everyone.

Adam was externally tempted by the Devil through Eve and fell, despite being in a garden surrounded by everything God had provided. Christ, the last Adam, was also externally tempted by the Devil, but in a wilderness after forty days without food, and He resisted. Neither needed a sinful nature to experience temptation.
Adam ate what God had forbidden when he had plenty to eat. Christ was hungry, yet refused Satan’s challenge to turn stones into bread. Where Adam disobeyed, Christ obeyed, and we depend upon His obedience for our righteousness.
“By the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.” — Romans 5:19

“Die for me brother”
A very famous song, singing about brotherhood and how the mark of true friendship is summed up in the line to lay down your life for a brother.
Remarkable that a singer who has no faith in the one true God would recognise that indeed the true mark of what love actually is, is to lay down your life for another.
It’s very easy to say you would lay down your life for another, when it’s not being presently asked, but is just a distant thought atm. I have often answered in the affirmative, that i would indeed die for my brother. But realistically many of us do not even comprehend the amount of love that would actually require, because love is not a warm floating emotion but an action…a sacrifice.
We struggle to pray for another, to help those around us in need because it’s not convenient, because it’s costly. And we think we have what it takes to lay down our lives? It is only by an act of God in our lives that we could do so! That the Holy Spirit would so move us to such an act of love, a love that was so freely shed for us because Christ laid down His life for you and I.
Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner, and grant me to love my brethren even if it costs me my life.
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
— John 15:12-13
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
— John 3:16
