two years.

two years since the allegations at the center of the cornell 7 case, and we are STILL talking about whether justice, accountability, and transparency were ever actually served.

how is that acceptable?

a woman came forward with allegations of sexual assault, and instead of this being handled with the urgency and seriousness it deserved, we are STILL here, years later, watching this case be fought over and re-examined.

that is inhumane.

no survivor should have to spend years wondering if anyone is actually going to listen to them. no one should have to keep reliving something traumatic just to have their allegations taken seriously. and no institution should be able to let something this serious fade into the background and hope people stop paying attention.

what makes this even more disturbing is how the disciplinary process has been described.

the lawsuit alleges that several of the defendants were given the opportunity to mitigate their conduct by submitting essays. cornell has since said that essay-writing was NOT the sole consequence and confirmed that suspensions and expulsions were also issued. but even so, the fact that essays became part of the conversation surrounding a case this serious is deeply disturbing.

an essay is not an apology.

an essay does not undo trauma.

an essay does not fix what happened.

and an essay should never be treated like it is enough to make something this serious go away.

we are talking about allegations of sexual violence. this is not some small disciplinary issue that should be checked off a list and forgotten.

and the fact that this happened in 2024 and we are STILL demanding answers in 2026 is heartbreaking.

two years later, people are STILL asking questions. people are STILL demanding transparency. and this case is STILL being fought over.

that should make us angry.

we cannot keep telling survivors to speak up and then act shocked when they do.

don’t let them hide behind “cornell 7.” say their names!!! Matthew Ingalls, Johnathan Newell, Winston Lee, Gillio Lopes, Diego Sarabia, Scott Norris, and Scott Kretzschmar.

listen to survivors and demand accountability.

on september 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were lost in one of the most tragic events in american history. 25 years later, we still remember the people who were taken from their families, the first responders who gave everything to help others, and everyone whose lives were changed that day. we may never be able to fully understand the loss that so many people experienced. but we can take the time to remember and honor them 🕊️

september is suicide prevention month. 💝

i just wanted to say this because you never really know what someone else is going through. someone could seem completely fine to you and still be struggling with things they haven’t told anyone about.

so please check in on your friends. ask them how they’re actually doing, not just “how are you?” and if they do open up to you, listen. please don’t judge them. you don’t always have to know what to say or fix anything. sometimes just having someone there is enough.

and if you’re having a hard time right now, please remember that you deserve that same support too. you are not a burden for needing help. you don’t need some perfect explanation or the right words. you can just say “i’m not doing okay.” and that’s enough.

things can change. one bad day doesn’t decide what your whole life is going to look like, and neither does one bad week. you deserve to stick around and see what happens next. 🤍

be a little kinder this month. send someone the random text. sit with them. ask if they’re okay. tell them you love them. you might think it’s a small thing, but you genuinely never know what someone needs to hear that day.

you matter. your feelings matter. your life matters. 💝

if you’re worried about someone, please tell someone who can actually help. and if you’re the one struggling, you can also text or call 988 to talk to someone, you don’t need to be at your absolute lowest to reach out.

please take care of yourselves this september. 💝 i love you ALL and if you need someone to talk about your feelings with, im always available 🤍
