This beef stew recipe has been in my family for 100 years. Today, I’m sharing it with you.
Of coarse you can find the full recipe right here on YouTube.
Simple ingredients, a big pot and plenty of time. The beef becomes beautifully tender, the onions add sweetness, and the beef shank and marrow bone give the stew a rich, deep flavour. Beer, bay leaf and mace bring it all together.
Let it simmer gently until the meat is tender and those flavours have had time to develop. And keep some bread nearby. You’ll want to soak up every last bit of that sauce.
Ingredients:
400 g beef, a mix of chuck and flat iron
1 slice of beef shank
1 piece of marrow bone
100 g butter
6 onions, sliced
4 carrots, diced
400 ml beer
600 ml water, or enough to cover the ingredients
1 bay leaf
1 piece of mace
5 black peppercorns
1 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
Save this recipe for a day when you can take your time and enjoy the cooking.

I received this comment on the video I posted on August 15. Funnily enough, I spent a lot of time looking for the right songs and editing them to fit the video. But it seems I may have gotten a little carried away creatively.
Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback, and I apologize for the craziness!
I’ve just finished editing the video for Saturday, September 5. I think it’s a beauty, and I hope you’ll enjoy it just as much as you enjoyed my previous videos.
