On November 14, 2024 – Don Bosco Bidar, English Medium School marked Children’s Day with a vibrant and inspiring celebration in honor of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, on his birth anniversary. The program was graced by esteemed guests, including Fr. Steven, the Rector; Fr. Praveen KJ, the Principal of Don Bosco School; and Fr. Mathew, Administrator and Principal of the ITI College. Representing the student body, the School Head Girl and Head Boy also attended. The event began with a warm welcome extended to the dignitaries on stage by Mr. Macanio. In a moment of respect and admiration for Nehru’s legacy and love for children, the guests garlanded his photograph. A solemn prayer service, led by the school’s teachers, followed, setting a reflective tone for the day’s festivities. In his keynote address, Fr. Praveen KJ spoke passionately about the responsibilities of students as future citizens of India. He emphasized how every student has a duty to grow into a positive role model and future leader. His words motivated the students to strive towards becoming responsible citizens who contribute to the nation’s progress. Fr. Steven also shared heartfelt reflections, focusing on the significance of children’s rights and the blessings of education. He reminded the students that they are "God’s gift to humanity" and that their nurturing environment at Don Bosco provides a unique opportunity to shape their futures positively. He also drew attention to the harsh reality that thousands of children in India remain deprived of basic rights and are often forced into labor or other forms of exploitation, stressing the value of the supportive and educational environment they enjoy at Don Bosco. To recognize and reward the efforts of students who excelled in various competitions organized in honor of Children’s Day, medals were distributed by the dignitaries. Adding an extra layer of joy to the day’s celebrations, teachers performed lively dance routines that delighted the students. This special performance was one of the highlights of the program, with both teachers and students joining together in the spirit of celebration. To make the day even more memorable, a variety of games were organized for the students, with prizes awarded to winners, spreading happiness and encouraging a spirit of playful camaraderie.
