Mystery College

Hello Mystery College Community!

I’m currently pursuing a graduate program on my path to becoming a psychotherapist (still a student, not licensed yet) and considering pivoting my channel’s focus.

While I’ll continue exploring wellness, spirituality, consciousness expansion, and personal growth, I want to center these topics more firmly within both therapeutic and geopolitical contexts.

#Reflections on Spirituality & Esotericism

Given today’s political and cultural climate, I’ve been thinking about how certain spiritual, New Age, polytheistic, and occult beliefs might be politically tolerated in the future.

These traditions have real value but also challenges:

- Many turn to esotericism as a last resort after feeling failed by traditional wellness paths.
- Without grounding and a healthy lifestyle, “personal gnosis” can lead to isolation or maladaptive patterns.

#Integrating Psychotherapy & Esoteric Wisdom

I believe spiritual exploration would benefit from integration into psychotherapeutic frameworks, which offer:

- Safer containment
- Healthier boundaries
- Practical tools for navigating personal and systemic challenges

Psychotherapy isn’t perfect and it absolutely deserves scrutiny, but combined with mindfulness, coaching, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, and evaluating systemic issues, it can deepen healing beyond spirituality or psychology alone.

This isn’t reducing everything to materialism—it’s embracing diverse approaches for richer understanding.

#Personal & Systemic Exploration

I’m passionate about sharing my journey through:
- Radical vulnerability
- Exploring my own thoughts and curiosities
- Discovering how systemic forces impact us economically, socially, and globally at all levels

I aim to present these topics like investigative journalism—honest, integrative, and non-preachy.

#Emerging Interests to Explore

- Neurodiversity
- Systems thinking
- Meaning and identity in a post-AGI future

#My Vision for the Channel

I want to offer a holistic, nuanced “map of reality” that honors:

- Systemic & historical forces shaping our lives
- The tension between what’s outside our control
- The personal agency we each hold to realize our fullest potential

#I Want to Hear From You!

- What parts of this vision resonate with you?
- What themes or questions would you like me to explore further?
-What don't you like about what I have to share or this direction?

Your insights will help shape content to support our shared journey through this complex landscape.

Thanks so much for being part of Mystery College! Your engagement and feedback mean the world to me! 💜

🎉 **We Just Hit 750+ Subscribers!** 🎉

Thank you all for supporting this creator journey around esoteric spirituality, personal transformation and self-improvement –– I'm grateful for all of you watching, commenting and sharing! It means the world to me that you spend time out of your day to engage with my content.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I am exploring different formats of video to create fo you–– I am currently investigating how to draw simple sketches as I would like to create a few animation videos for this channel. Stick-man figure style explainers videos. My family has multi-generational dysgraphia, so the images may look crude.

I want to know –––what do you feel would best grow this youtube channel's teachings? It can be any format of video–– video essays, high end cinematic style productions, animated explainers, anything. I would like your honest constructive feedback.

My most successful video by watchtime is the Spiritual analysis of a videogame-– Plants Vs. Zombies. According to Youtube, I had 40-50x the amount of engagement and watch time than I usually have with a video, as well as the most views, and Viewers Per Hour.

With the above being said, I am looking to make more generalized videos that may be more entertaining, informative, and far easier to digest. The average English-speaking person speaks English as a Second Language. for the vast majority of English Speakers, they read at about a 4th grade level. As a monolingust, I am deeply impressed by anyone who speaks a second language even only conversationally. I will focus on balancing eloquence, wordplay, with swift simplicity.

I wish to not dilute the teachings, rather to make them far more approachable to an absolute beginner, but with the clarity and butting insight to be deeply stimulating to a high-level practitioner. I appreciate your active partipation in providing constructive feedback to meet this delicate goal to create immense value for you. I will keep creating in-depth esoteric teachings and content, but Would like to make very high-effort videos for novices to entice and invite more people into the world of spirituality and personal transformation.

Thank you once again for your support. I invite you to share your thoughts with me below, or privately at jake@mysterycollege.com

With gratitude,

Jake

Hi folks! I just turned off all of Youtube's default AI comment moderation. Is that okay with you? I want everyones opinion, regardless if it is contrary. Opposing views and criticisms are great opportunities for dialogue and greater overall understanding of a video or concept, even if it may be offensive to some viewers. As long as folks aren't making ad hominem comments or attacking people based of race, ethnicity, gender or disabilities, I am okay with allowing it. It's perfectly okay to make fun of me. I may have to be more sensitive to folks targeting commenters or my guests on podcasts, as I want this to be a safe space for them to express themselves
