Kinda torn between what the next video topic is going to be, I'm thinking of doing a video debunking the topic of featurism? Basically i feel like the concept of having certain features automatically making you pretty is stupid.
but I also kinda want to talk about how talking proper/not acting a certain way doesn't automatically equate to being white washed as a black person... idk? Which topic would y'all be more interested in me talking about currently?
Probably gonna make my next video about this but what's the one piece of dating/relationship advice people give that pisses you off and annoys you to no end? I'll go first.
"Love yourself first before you find a relationship" Any variation of the "love yourself" or self love mantra constantly drives me up the walls. I feel like people say that stuff because they feel bad for the person and it's an easy way for them to feel like they're being profound and helpful by telling the chronically single guy/girl what they've probably already heard countless times. Self love is important but you need to get your foot in the door to get any dating experience, and that can't happen unless people reciprocate and find you attractive enough(looks or otherwise) in some way to want to date you.
I really wish a lot of people could truly understand and empathize with just how traumatizing it is to grow up unattractive.
I and others in my personal life would consider my looks to be on the average end now but I was ugly in middle to high school. I've talked about this in a couple videos and I might do a separate video really breaking it down. It's cute to try and say that everyone should just stop being obsessed with their looks and should just "decenter" beauty but truly we need to understand what that means.
It means people purposefully ignoring you in social settings, people constantly commenting on your looks, hell I even had one person who I thought I was friends with at the time try and tell me I would never get into a relationship just with how "ugly" I was, less people wanting to talk to you, you have to work harder to be accepted in social and professional settings, everything you do is viewed through a negative light...my point is, center beauty as much as you can. I'm sick of people acting like it's "shallow", no it should be common sense.
Wonderful video, this came up on my feed today, I love the way she structured her arguments and she comes across as super intelligent, please watch this!
I think I might try to do weight loss vlogs on a members-only section of my channel if I'm able to do that, the topic is very interesting to me. I might not be uploading members-only content frequently though, because I don't want to turn YouTube into a long-term career. I'm currently a bit off track in my journey as of late.
Attention subscribers, I would like to publicly announce that I'm going to be taking a small break from uploading, not for any major reason, I just want to chill for a bit lol
