Old Bon Jovi Forest in Kenya feeds into Lake Victoria which around 45 million people depend upon. It became heavily degraded and reforestation efforts were not working. Working together, Planet Wild, EarthLungs and Veritree have created a reforestation project that really lasts, planting thousands of indigenous trees but also removing invasive species and using local knowledge as well as technology to track the forest recovery and help ecosystems recover properly. Drones map the landscape, growth sensors monitor tree health and microphones help measure the return of wildlife.
