Happy birthday to my friend and musical partner, Andrew Fearn. As meticulous with his garden (not a euphemism) as he is with his music. His garden at home is deeply engineered and is a marvel to look at. But it’s more than just a well tended patch of land, it also represents the happiness which I can see he’s found too. People here are just getting on with it, fully aware of the diabolical practices currently taking place in high office. The powerlessness of the masses feels like a silent collective mourning, while this minibus load of weird elected officials ram-raid whatever’s left in broad daylight.
It’s proper Jackanory bedtime whiplash, and not unfamiliar to us in England when you look at the now rotting Conservative Party. Corruption can be beaten, but it always leaves utter bureaucratic chaos and moral confusion behind. Overthrowing the devils is nothing compared to the shite that needs clearing up afterwards.
