Controlled Voltage Sound Labs

LM-1 sample pack now available on our Patreon! This sample pack features all sounds from the LM-1, meticulously sampled at three distinct pitches: low, medium, and high, available in both dry and processed formats. A unique characteristic of the LM-1 is its hi-hat, which never triggers the same waveform twice due to its circuitry. To authentically replicate this feature, the pack includes four different closed hi-hat hits per tuning. Each sample is precisely trimmed to match the original EPROM images, ensuring an accurate emulation of the LM-1's distinctive swing. Samples are systematically organized into folders based on tuning. www.patreon.com/CVsoundlabs

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Sly Dunbar. As an avid lover of reggae and dancehall, Sly's work has been profoundly influential to me and countless others. He was a pioneer of incorporating Simmons drums into reggae music, and I have spent countless hours studying his riddims for Black Uhuru. Rest easy.

New episode out now! I wanted to showcase Soul II Soul's "Back To Life" as it's arguably one of the most influential drum patterns of the 90's. The drums went on to be sampled for other hits such Primitive Radio Gods "Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth" and St. Etienne's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" just to name a few. Be sure to check it out! Happy Holidays!
