A few months ago I thought: “I have not for a long time seen Christ.” Immediately, within the spiritual eye, amidst a mass of light, I beheld his face, looking sad. “Don’t let me see you sad,” I implored. At once his face became beautiful with smiles. I have been experiencing wonderful realizations these last few days. They are a great landmark in my consciousness and in my development.

When human will refuses to acknowledge its limitations, then it becomes divine will. Whenever you meet resistance, do not give up. The Lord says, I can give you salvation if you make the effort; but I cannot give My love and devotion, for if I give that away I become poor. This is the treasure of God, His very essence. When you are passing through the difficulties and tests of life, you usually become rebellious: “Why should this happen to me?” Instead, you should think of every trial as a pickax with which to dig into the soil of your consciousness and release the fountain of spiritual strength that lies within. Each test should bring out the hidden power that is within you as a child of God, made in His image. Our tests are not meant to destroy us. Only those who are cowards, and who don’t acknowledge the all-perfect image of God within, become rebellious and surrender to their trials as though those tests were unconquerable destructive forces.

It is even better to be a go-getting materialistic man and accomplish something, than to be lazy; the lazy man is forsaken by both man and God. Many fortunes have been made by enterprising people, but don’t make money your criterion of success. Often it isn’t the money, but the creative ability exercised in earning it, that brings satisfaction.
