So I watched the barbie in the nutcracker remake yesterday and it just highlighted not only the problems with modern barbie but modern kids media as a whole. Just painfully bright colours, quick pacing, and a very very basic plot and moral lesson i know modern post rebrand barbie movies/media were never anything spectacular but they weren't this bad either why is it only getting worse?😭😭😭.This was NOT the way to celebrate the 25 years of barbie movies and mattel themselves even know that cuz not only did they bring the og movie to netflix but they also re-released the og Clara doll since the ones for the new movie look like....well...that. And the worst part is that they're planning to remake more movies cuz the barbie in a mermaid tale remake is already in production and the toys have already been revealed. Instead of doing all this they should just release old barbie movies in theatres and re-release all the dolls along with them.

Have y'all heard of this new magical girl manga called cocoromake cosmetica? 11 chapters are out but it hasn't been translated which is a shame cuz I love the aesthetic
