I started off this channel with tech reviews 6 years ago and built on it slowly. This channel’s also been a place for me to share videos on food, travel and other hobbies.
After using a Lenovo Legion Go S (SteamOS, Z2 Go version), it should have been better than the Steam Deck OLED - at least on paper the Z2 Go is stronger.
But it wasn’t.
It had SteamOS officially from Valve, but official patches, updates would be provided from Lenovo (who aren’t great with this). This meant that the Legion Go S would be left behind in a year or two.
I booted up my Steam Deck OLED and began to appreciate how Valve are continuously squeezing as much power out of this thing through their crazy optimisation.
And the best part? Valve are sure to be updating this amazing device for a good few years. The new price is a huge negative but if you do get it now, you are guaranteed to have a device that will be long supported.
I really want something more powerful than the Steam Deck OLED. Only two options are coming up for me:
Lenovo Legion Go S (Z2 Go, SteamOS) - £399 Lenovo Legion Go 2 (Z2) - £750ish
Both are on offer in the UK at the moment. The Go S will provide better performance, but only by 10-15%. The Go 2 will be superior and act as a true daily driver, but even at the ‘offer’ price it’s off-putting.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has increased in popularity due to Microsoft and Sony’s antics in the past few weeks - be sure to check out my videos on then if you haven’t! 👍🏼
It’s down to £369. There’s a £10 off voucher which takes it does to £359.
Also, for many Amazon customers, you may have £20 off (given back as a gift voucher) if you spend more than £80. This effectively brings the Switch 2 down to £339! Considering the price increase in September, it’s a tempting offer!
