How to Power BI
Power BI Developer role is changing fast and here are 4 skills worth learning before 2027 🙌🏻
1. TMDL View - your model as text. Change multiple measures at once, rename folders, update formats.
2. UDFs - write a calculation once, reuse it everywhere. New for Power BI, totally normal elsewhere.
3. MCP and AI Agents - give an AI agent tools to work with Power BI directly.
4. PBIP and Git - save as a Power BI Project, put it in Git, go back to any version or collaborate on the same report with someone else

Most people using Copilot don’t know what it’s looking at when it answers.
Microsoft IQ is the context structure behind it.
Here is a breakdown:
🟠 Work IQ - your mail, calendar, chats, files and Dynamics 365 data.
🟢 Fabric IQ - your business data through semantic models.
🟣 Foundry IQ - your documents, SharePoint, PDFs and wikis.
🔵 Web IQ - the public web via Bing (limited access).
People only see what they already have access to - so the answer you get may be different than someone else’s (!)

Fonts in Power BI?
Heres what to do and what you avoid, all on one page:
1️⃣ Sans serif vs. Serif fonts
2️⃣ One font family + a brand or serif font for titles.
3️⃣ Tabular for numbers is a must (especially in tables)
4️⃣ Power BI only shows fonts installed on the viewers machine (!) and it falls back to Times New Roman by default.
5️⃣ Free custom fonts: Google Fonts, Font Squirrel, Fontshare.
6️⃣ Add your font and its fallbacks to the theme JSON.

Well…
Power BI’s new update, Fabric Apps, Claude makes it possible for AI to build the dashboard...
Especially with some curated skills you can get to good outputs. 😳
A big part of what we do suddenly takes seconds.
But here's what it still needs and it becomes even more important than ever (!):
– a clean data model underneath
– someone who knows if the number makes sense
– someone who knows what the stakeholder *really* wants and how it should be visualized
So the job is changing even faster than expected and I’m totally excited for it! We are running at the forefront of what tools and processes make sense, how to use them best, what to do and what not to do.
My team is already staffed on totally different projects:
Let’s build the model in Fabric and only then decided where/how best to visualize it?
