റിസർവ് ബാങ്ക് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ (ആർബിഐ) ഇൻഡസിൻഡ് ബാങ്കിന് നിരീക്ഷണ മാനദണ്ഡങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കാതിരുന്നതിന് ₹27.30 ലക്ഷം പിഴ ചുമത്തി. ഈ പിഴ റിസർവ് ബാങ്ക് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ (നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളുടെ പലിശ നിരക്കുകൾ) മാർഗനിർദ്ദേശം, 2016 പ്രകാരം യോഗ്യതയില്ലാത്ത സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്ക് സേവിംഗ്സ് അക്കൗണ്ട് തുറക്കുന്നതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട വ്യവസ്ഥകൾ ലംഘിച്ചതിനെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ളതാണ്.
2024 ഡിസംബർ 18 തീയതിയിലുള്ള ഉത്തരവിലൂടെ ഔപചാരികമാക്കിയ ഈ നടപടി, ബാങ്കിന്റെ 2023 മാർച്ച് 31 തീയതിവരെ നിലനിന്ന സാമ്പത്തിക സ്ഥിതിയെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി നടത്തിയ മാനേജന മൂല്യനിർണ്ണയത്തിന് (ISE 2023) ശേഷമാണ് വന്നത്.
പരിശോധനയിൽ ആർബിഐയുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കാത്തതായി കണ്ടെത്തിയതോടെ ഇൻഡസിൻഡ് ബാങ്കിന് ആർബിഐ ഷോകോസ് നോട്ടീസ് നൽകുകയുണ്ടായി.
ഈ നോട്ടീസിന് മറുപടിയായി, ബാങ്ക് അധിക രേഖകൾ സമർപ്പിക്കുകയും വ്യക്തിഗത വാദം കേൾക്കലും നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്നാൽ, വിശദമായ പരിഗണനയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം, യോഗ്യതയില്ലാത്ത സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്ക് സേവിംഗ്സ് അക്കൗണ്ട് തുറന്ന കുറ്റം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു എന്ന നിർണയത്തിലാണ് ആർബിഐ, ഇതേതുടർന്ന് പിഴ ചുമത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.
