Another year has flown by. The older we get the quicker they seem to go.....

Well 2023 is here.... 2022 was another busy year for Linda and me..... Sadly we lost 3 close friends... and our lovely dog.. Paddy.
Always great to look back as it's easy to forget what went on..... we will never forget our trip to see Lou in Wilmington back in June / July.... this year we completed our epic quest to visit every US State... the final five States were amazing. We drove over 2500 miles and did a big chunk of Route 66. Our North American experience has been so positive... what a great Country and Friendly people.... not at all like the media make it out to be. Over the last 25 years we have driven 65,000 miles in the US and never had any problems or concerns about our safety.
A lot of 2022 appears to have been dominated by Motorsport (Hill Climbs and Drag Racing) and Local Car Shows.... the weather in 2022 helped with many nice dry days and soaring temperatures.
I bought a new Motorcycle in August and this features in our look back.... many rides into North Wales... stunning scenery.

Well... June 2022.... and we have now visited every US State.. all 50 !! plus, of course Washington DC. Another amazing roadtrip .. 3300 miles from Chicago to Wilmington, North Carolina. The last State in our 25 year mission was Kentucky. One of the standout attractions on this trip has to be the "Gateway Arch" in St Louis... just breathtaking... so tall !!

The First Car Show of 2022 !! Such an eclectic mix of vehicles... pretty much the norm for the Footman James "Coffee & Chrome" Events. What's not to like .... Cars... Great Coffee and a free Bacon Bap thrown in... they even cater for Coeliacs !!

Linda and I are on a mission to visit every US State. So far we have done 43... and driven in 41 of them. Our love of North America started with our first visit to Florida in 1992, when we were lucky to see a Space Shuttle take off. Since then we have driven over 40,000 miles and seen some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in the World. Along the way we have met some amazing people and gained some lifelong friends... in the particular the Bartlebough Family from Lakewood CA. We met them first in 1998 when Mike was a Sergeant in the Gardena Police Force. I went out on patrol a few time with Mike and his colleagues... an experience money cannot buy !!
Since then we have visited them on many occasions and in 2017 visited one of their daughters, Brandy, who now lives just outside Phoenix Arizona. When we arrived, to our surprise, the rest of the family including Mike & Laura were there. Such lovely people. We are hoping to see Mike & Laura's granddaughter, Haleigh, this summer .... she lives in West Virginia.
We have enjoyed every state we have visited and always felt safe and welcome.
Of the Many highlights over the years.... Alaska, Hawaii.... Monument Valley, Vegas and the beauty of Yellowstone stand out. Great Cities... New York, Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans .... the sprawling metropolis that is Los Angeles (my favourite) .. such enduring memories.
in 2019 I made 3 visits to the States.... with Linda.... Denver, Yellowstone, Wyoming, Nebraska (The subject of the attached video) and in the Fall .. New England. In November I did a short roadtrip from Memphis to New Orleans with our Daughter Louise who now lives in Nashville.
The attached video is of some of the highlights from our BIG Roadtrip which features not only the wonder that is Yellowstone but also the Worlds Largest Steam Locomotive and the "Golden Spike" celebrations...... commemorating the completion if the Trans-America Railroad in 1869 (10th May)

Lovely surprise to see heavy snow last evening around 9.30pm. It lasted for around 45 mins but didn't really stick. Nearly all gone this morning.
