Aaj rooftop solar ki sabse badi limitation yeh hai ki suraj doobte hi generation zero ho jaata hai. Panel wahi hai, investment wahi hai, jagah wahi hai — bas sunlight nahi hai. Matlab din ke 12 ghante aapka system idle pada rehta hai.
Ab US mein ek company is problem pe kaam kar rahi hai. Unka idea simple hai — space mein satellites lagao, jahan sunlight almost hamesha available hoti hai. Wahan se solar energy capture karo, aur usse ek focused laser beam ki tarah Earth par lage solar panels tak bhejo. Woh ise "power beam" kehte hain.
Matlab raat mein bhi aapke panel ko "sunlight" milti rahegi.
Same panel. Same chhat. Same investment. Lekin kaafi zyada energy output.
Washington Post ki report ke mutabik, yeh technology normal solar farms ka output 3x se bhi zyada kar sakti hai. Aur Meta jaisi companies already isme invest kar chuki hain apne data centers ke liye.
Lekin, iske implementation mein kuch challenges bhi hain.👇
- Satellites launch karna aur maintain karna extremely costly hai
- Beam ko accurately ground par target karna technically bahut mushkil hai
- Safety aur regulatory approvals ka poora process baaki hai
- Cloud cover aur weather ka impact still ek question hai
- Yeh idea decades se chal raha hai, lekin commercially aaj tak kabhi viable nahi hua
Isiliye filhaal yeh future ki technology hai, aaj ka solution nahi.
