Oak Savannah Studios

Oak Savannah Studios is a field journal of Manitoba wildlife, trail-camera discoveries, prairie plants, and changing rural landscapes.

Here you’ll find real footage from Manitoba’s Interlake region, including white-tailed deer, coyotes, bears, birds, and other wildlife moving through familiar places. I also share natural-sound observations of plants, habitats, and seasonal outdoor life.

I make these records for myself, my family, and friends—and I’m sharing them with anyone who enjoys honest wildlife footage and quiet outdoor stories.

Real animals. Real places. Natural sound. No staged scenes.

Hi everyone! I’m heading out to the farm for a few days to spend some time outside, get the garden cleaned up, prep my garlic beds, take Otter for a few long walks, and check my trail cameras.

I’ll be swapping SD cards, freshening up batteries, and getting things ready for the whitetail rutting season. I’m hoping to find some late-summer footage—maybe bucks in velvet, some licking-branch activity or maybe a nice bull elk. I’ll also have some fun trying to sort out those confusing fall warblers!

That’s the fun of trail cameras and time outdoors: you never know what you’ll find. I may be slow to reply while I’m away, but I’ll catch up when I’m back. If I find something good, I’ll share it here. Are you looking forward to seeing what the cameras picked up? If you enjoy following along, please like and subscribe. It really helps.

Hey everyone! I’ve been going through the old video archives and found quite a bit of tractor and farm footage—making hay, disking, seeding, and more.

I was planning to keep Oak Savannah Studios mostly focused on prairie restoration, gardening, Otter, my other beautiful dogs, and trail-camera footage, but I’d be happy to share some of the farm videos too if you’re interested. I’ll be keeping the archive copies private or unlisted, and I may post a few publicly.

Give this post a 👍 if you’d like to see some tractor and farm-life videos!

Hey everyone,

I’ve been going through my archives and found a large collection of old trail-camera photographs—not videos, just still images—from over the years.

I’m thinking about putting together a “Best Of” series, starting with some of the really nice bucks I’ve photographed in velvet. I also have bucks out of velvet, along with other wildlife that has visited the trail-camera stations over the years.

I’m curious—would you enjoy seeing some of these photo collections?

Would you be interested in a series featuring bucks in velvet, deer during the rut, bears, elk, cranes, and other wildlife from the Oak Savannah Studios archives?

Let me know what you think, and which animals or photo series you’d like to see first.
