I set up two tiers for anyone who wants to help support these videos: Highballers ($2.99) and Shonan All-Stars ($4.99).
Nothing changes for regular uploads. All the main videos will stay 100% free. But if you want to join, you get unlisted early access to new uploads around 24 to 48 hours before they go public, custom badges in the comments (new badges coming soon), and casual behind-the-scenes life updates from the Big C by the sea in Chigasaki.

So I'm sorry for missing the Sunday posting time, but I've been tweaking the script to my latest video, and it's a topic that's near and dear to my heart: Why Modern Japan Vlogs Feel Like Commercials. In it, I go over a comment I received that hit on something I've been thinking about for years but didn't know how to put the words to, and that's the over-commercialization of Japan content, not to mention the Beastification-style of over-editing. As a freelance video editor and YouTuber in my own right, I've been torn on the topic and I want to explain the history of making videos in Japan, why I feel the way I do about the current state of Japan content, the rise of a back-to-basics counter-movement, and how I'll be making stuff moving forward to beat imposter syndrome and get back to just making the damn videos already lol! A bit short, but I had a good time at Aloha Market in Chigasaki, just a hop, skip, and jump from where I am. I'm also working on a new vlog talking about some stuff that's been on my mind for awhile now, like how I haven't been truthful to you guys about stuff going on in my life and how that's affected my videos. And who knows? I might even finally work on those two AndyJapandy videos I filmed earlier this year. May has definitely invigorated me as we move into summer! - Andy.

Hey guys! So I know you've been asking for a new vlog, but this time I have been waiting for the right time, and that time is quickly approaching! On the 7th JST, my 40th birthday, I will be dropping my 400th vlog! What fortunate timing! So if there's any burning questions you want me to answer, please let me know! - Andy.
Hey guys! So it's been a while since I last said anything, which is sadly becoming the regular around here. But fear not! I'm just busy with work and other projects like video editing and photography (I've posted a few photos below), which is consuming what little free time I do have throughout the week.
But one thing has been bothering me lately and that is the overtourism and subsequent bad behavior here in Japan. As someone who shares his life in Japan, I can't help but feel a little bit responsible even though I'm sure my viewers have enough common sense to not act like Japan is their personal playground. Even if you don't know all the customs and traditions, acting like a decent person goes a long way no matter where you are.
For awhile I was debating on even continuing to make Japan themed videos, but I decided to continue because I like Japan and want to show off cool spots that aren't covered much online. The reasons being are to hopefully lighten the load on overcrowded spots and contribute positively to tourism in areas of Japan that don't receive as much tourists. That being said, I think I should add some sort of information on how to act in these areas or even make dedicated videos on it.
Now that the weather is warming up, I want to get out there and make some videos in Shonan! While most people know about Enoshima and Kamakura, there's a lot more to Shonan than just those places. I hope to see you guys again soon! - Andy.
