Simple Dwelling is an independent Australian architecture publication exploring thoughtful, architect-designed homes through film.
Founded in Melbourne, our features examine the ideas shaping contemporary residential architecture: how homes respond to site and climate, how planning supports daily life, and how light, materials and landscape shape their experience. Each film is guided by the central architectural idea behind the project.
We believe simplicity is not an aesthetic, but a discipline grounded in clarity, restraint and careful attention to what a home genuinely needs. Our work explores five recurring principles: Restraint, Form, Space, Materials and Landscape, all in response to place.
