There is something incredibly beautiful about Ganesh Chaturthi....

For a few precious days, everything seems to come alive homes, streets, cities and villages light up with devotion. The air is filled with bhajans, chants, music and the beautiful sound of people coming together to invoke Bappa’s blessings.

What touches me the most is how this festival brings everyone together, beyond backgrounds, differences and boundaries. For a moment, there is only faith, joy, celebration and a shared feeling of devotion. ❤️

Today, as I visited a Ganapati pandal, I could truly feel that energy the smiles, the devotion, the music, the colours and the collective prayers. There is something so powerful and beautiful about witnessing an entire community come together with one heart.

And every second, I find myself feeling incredibly blessed to have been born in this beautiful country — a land where traditions are not just celebrated, but lived, felt and passed on.

Perhaps that is the magic of India.
Our festivals remind us that no matter how different we may be, there is always something sacred that brings us together.

I met a mother who gave her only son to Krishna, and I have never seen a mother speak about such a sacrifice with so much happiness. 🪷

When I met Sri Sri Vedavardhana Tirtha Swamiji’s mother at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, there was one question I couldn’t stop myself from asking: How did you do it? How do you give your only son to a life of sanyasa when he is barely sixteen?

She told me about a relative whose son lives in the US and hasn’t come home for two years, missing weddings and important family occasions. Then she smiled and said, “What more can we ask God for? Our son is with Krishna all the time. And because he is with Krishna, our entire family is with Krishna all the time.”

The happiness in her face as she said this completely touched me. There was no sadness or regret. Only gratitude. She didn’t see it as giving her son away. She saw it as giving him to Krishna.

Today, at just 20, Swamiji carries the enormous responsibility of the Paryaya of Udupi Sri Krishna Matha. His life is one of immense discipline, devotion and sacrifice, following traditions and rituals that have been carried forward for generations.

And when I met him, there was something in his face that I simply cannot explain. A certain stillness and purity in his eyes. For a moment, I genuinely felt like I was seeing Krishna reflected in him.

We often wonder how our temples and traditions have survived for centuries. Perhaps the answer lies in people like them — parents who surrender their children to a larger purpose, and young people who choose devotion over a life of comfort.

Because of people like them, we are still walking into these temples today. Because of people like them, these traditions continue to live.

And because of people like them, I truly believe our Sanatana Dharma is in safe hands. 🪷

Every time I think about this meeting, my eyes fill with tears. I went to Udupi to film a temple, but I came back with a lesson in faith, surrender and devotion that I will cherish for the rest of my life. ❤️

In Tulu Nadu, Nagas are not just worshipped - they are deeply woven into the very soul of our land and our lives. This land belongs to the Nagas, and we live upon it with their blessings. They are our protectors, our guides, and the guardians of our homes, health, prosperity and well-being.

That is why Nagara Panchami feels less like a festival and more like a day of gratitude. ❤️

It also marks the beginning of the festive season - the first celebration that sets the mood for all the beautiful festivals, traditions, food and togetherness that follow through the year.

Then comes our beloved Patholi, steamed in turmeric leaves, followed by a traditional meal at home - simple, sacred and so deeply connected to who we are.

For those of us who call Tulu Nadu home, Nagara Panchami is not just a date on the calendar. It is a reminder of our roots, our land, our traditions and the divine forces we believe continue to protect and bless us.

Today, I attended the Krishna Kalotsava at Kudroli, beautifully organised by Team Vihari. 💙

And honestly… every time I see little ones dressed up as little Krishnas, my heart just melts like butter.

There are some sights that words simply cannot do justice to. My heart was literally jumping with joy seeing so much innocence, devotion and love for Krishna all around me.

I feel truly blessed to have been a part of this beautiful celebration — witnessing little Krishnas everywhere, celebrating our culture and bringing so much happiness to everyone around them.

A day filled with Krishna, love, laughter and pure joy.

This wasn’t in my plan for the day. But God had other ideas.

Yesterday, a mother and father were performing their baby’s Annaprasana at the temple - the first rice-feeding ceremony, one of the most sacred milestones in a child’s life. While i was seated in the temple after the Pooja - they asked me to feed the baby too…

I sat there, this tiny soul looking up at me, and I had no words. None. Just this overwhelming wave of gratitude and love I still can’t fully explain.

This is what temples do. They turn strangers into witnesses of each other’s most precious moments. They make you part of someone’s story without you even asking to be.

This is why I do what I do. For precious moments exactly like this one 💖
