“Your voice is not just a way to speak… it is a way to express who you are.”

Welcome to Speak with Power.

I am Captain Ritu Kumar Singh (Retd), a former Indian Army Officer and a Lawyer. For years, I have been fascinated by one thing - the power of communication. The way you speak, the way you carry yourself, and the way you handle challenges can completely change how you show up in life.

Through this channel, I share practical lessons, personal experiences, and actionable strategies to help you:
- Speak with confidence
- Overcome the fear of judgment
- Improve your communication skills
- Build self-belief & mental strength
- Become a stronger version of yourself

“Your greatest power is already within you. Once you recognize it and unleash it, you don’t just speak with power, you start living with power.”

Speak With Power

I grew up hearing, especially from women around me, what I could and couldn’t become. Even today, I get advice on my choices, business, social media, clothes, and life. But I ask myself one question - Are they living the life I aspire to live?

The day I started taking advice only from people I genuinely aspire to become, everything became clearer. Choose your mentors wisely. Not every opinion deserves your attention.

Speak With Power

Hi everyone! ❤️ I realised I never really introduced myself properly here. And today, on the last day of my 90-day challenge, feels like the perfect day to do that.

So, who am I?

• I was born as Ritu Bhadana in a small village in Faridabad, Haryana.
• I later became an Indian Army officer in the JAG branch and a lawyer. After getting married, i picked up my husband’s surname.
• I am an entrepreneur (hospitality industry), women’s wellness coach, speaker and a communication coach.
• I was Mrs India 2019-20 , Second Runner-Up.
• I participated in Super Speaker Season 3 by Success Gyan, a hunt to find India’s best speaker where also I became the Second Runner-Up.
• I was once a very angry and reactive young woman. Today, I value calmness and composure more than winning an argument.
• After COVID, I went through anxiety, existential questioning and depersonalisation, which took me towards spirituality and deeper self-exploration.
• I am a huge devotee of Lord Hanuman, but I also question, explore and keep my mind open.
• Meditation has become an important part of my life.
• I believe in communication with kindness, confidence without arrogance, and success without losing your humanity.

Most importantly, I don’t have all the answers. 😊 I am still learning. Still questioning. Still growing. Still becoming.

And if you’re new here, welcome. 🤗❤️

Speak With Power

Yesterday, while watching Hanuman Ansh, I found myself in tears again. Last year, when I visited Neeb Karori Baba’s ashram, I cried the moment I entered the mandir. Something about that place touched a part of me I cannot explain.

And watching his journey brought that feeling back. One lesson stayed with me that when your path is clear, you cannot keep living according to everyone else’s expectations of you.

Sometimes, choosing your purpose will disappoint people. Let them be disappointed. If your path is right and you’re not harming anyone, have the courage to walk it.

Gratitude is where respect begins. Maybe good manners aren’t just about how we treat people, they begin with how deeply we appreciate everything around us. 🤍

Speak With Power

7 days to go! 🎯 I am finally at the last leg of my 90-day challenge, and…….I am exhausted, excited, and incredibly proud of myself. 😅❤️

For last 83 days, I showed up every single day with 2 Instagram reels, 2 YouTube Shorts, and 1 long-form YouTube video. No breaks, no excuses, no breaking the promise I made to myself. And the biggest lesson?

You don’t always need a danda on your head. 😂 If you’re self-disciplined and committed to yourself, you become your own boss. There were days when I had absolutely no energy, but that little voice in my head kept saying: “Just keep going.”

Research. Scripting. Shooting. Editing. Everything on my own because i couldn’t have wasted time in explaining to an editor how to edit it minimally. I have two other social media teams for my restaurant & fitness firm and i know how many times i reject videos and concepts there 😅 so i wanted to do it on my own for Speak with Power. Only 7 days left now. And I CANNOT WAIT to finish! 😄

After this, I am choosing quality over quantity and I will be posting around 3 times a week, while giving more time to coaching, work, and life. Or may be post daily if my schedule allows. But this 90-day journey?

I will always be proud that I kept the promise I made to myself. ❤️

Speak With Power

When you communicate a boundary or say no, some people will understand it and some won’t. But if you have to keep explaining your boundary again and again, giving ten reasons just to make someone accept your “no,” it stops being a boundary. It becomes a negotiation, even a request. There will always be people who try to test your limits, but real self-respect is staying clear and firm without feeling the need to justify yourself endlessly.

For example, imagine you’ve told someone, “I don’t want you to speak to me that way.”

They respond, “But I was angry,” “You’re taking it too seriously,” or “Come on, I didn’t mean it.”

You don’t need a new explanation every time. You can simply say, “I understand, but I am still not okay with it.”

A boundary is not about making the other person agree with you. It’s about being clear about what you will and will not accept.

A small note about the DPDR recovery video.

A few of you had asked me to share my journey of recovering from DPDR, and I did. I recorded a detailed 37-minute video and put it up on YouTube. But after watching it and sitting with it for some time, something inside me kept telling me that this is a part of my life I don’t want to carry forward publicly.

That period was deeply personal and, honestly, one of the most difficult and horrific phases of my life. Sharing it in detail brought me back to certain experiences that I have worked very hard to move beyond. So, I chose to delete the video.

This isn’t about insecurity, shame, or hiding my story. It’s about knowing what I want to keep private. Not everything we overcome needs to become content.

I’m also not a psychologist or a psychiatrist, and I don’t want my personal experience to be taken as professional advice. I shared it because many of you asked, but I’ve realised that this is one journey I would rather leave where it belongs in my past.

Today, I am much more interested in speaking about where I am, what I’ve learnt, and how we can move forward. Thank you to everyone who understood, respected my decision, and gave me the space to choose what I want to share and what I don’t.

Some chapters are meant to be healed, not repeatedly retold. ❤️

This is your sign to stay consistent.

In June, I committed to posting a video every single day on social media for 90 days. Today, I have just 18 days left. And honestly, it wasn’t easy. There were days I was exhausted and didn’t want to record or post anything. Alongside this, I also challenged myself to exercise every single day.

The first pic is from the first week of June. And second one is me now. The growth isn’t just in my channel, it’s in my confidence, the way I speak, the way I show up, and yes, even in how I look and feel.Consistency may feel small every day, but the results add up.

So if you needed a sign to keep going, this is it.

You can say, “I don’t agree with you,” without saying, “You are stupid.”

You can be angry without insulting. You can set a boundary without humiliating. You can have a difficult conversation without attacking the person.

Remember, the goal of a disagreement should be to resolve the issue, not to destroy the relationship. Because sometimes, it isn’t the disagreement that people remember. It’s how you made them feel while disagreeing with them.

Speak With Power

People often ask me where my confidence comes from. It wasn’t built on a stage. It was built in one of the hardest phases of my life. My parents did not agree to my marriage with my husband. But I knew he was the right person for me. I had to fight for years. I had to disappoint people I loved. I had to watch my parents stay angry with me. I was called names. I spent long periods feeling completely alone.

Convincing people of something they are not ready to accept is one of the hardest things you can ever do.
The only thing that gave me strength was knowing I was financially independent and could stand on my own feet.

Today, when I look back, I don’t remember the pain as much as I remember being grateful that I had the courage to try. Because if I hadn’t fought for what I believed in, I would still be living with one question:

“What if?”

Your life is not shaped only by what happens to you. It is shaped by the efforts you choose to make, even when they are difficult.

Have you ever taken a difficult decision that you’re grateful for today?
