Today is the International Day against LGBTQIA+PHOBIA.

It is a symbolic date for my life. First, for recognizing me as gay since childhood. Then for having suffered all the pain, prejudice and evil that this condition brings to my existence.

Homophobic jokes throughout school life, the mean and insecure classmates of their own masculinities, developing a toxic and homophobic masculinity to protect themselves from what they considered a threat. Bosses who speculated about my life, comments within companies, three layoffs where my sexuality was always a camouflaged reason, even delivering results of marketing campaigns with a 300% increase in sales and revolutionized corporate advertising and marketing.

Expelled from Über in São Paulo for homophobia, also present in two assaults, a verbal and physical homophobic attack on the streets of Lisbon. And yes; every day I need to deal with micro aggressions: since I must cut my hair, or since it is too curly and flamboyant (besides liking it as it is, it is also my political gesture. About questioning standards and a lot freedom. So please respect me!), or people who do not agree with my marriage to @fabiovonderliebl and my socio-political activism for a more inclusive and diverse world.

And yes; my friends who are LGBTQIA + blacks and PCD’s always report many prejudices to me. The trans, many, every day. They don’t get jobs easily and get homophobic looks at all times. Lesbians, bisexuals too (the latter register prejudice within the community as well). Brazil is the country that kills the most LGBTQIA +. One every 16h. The one that kills the most trans women in the world. Part of the phobias fomented by conservative and fundamentalist religious groups. And empowered by anti-President Jair Bolsonaro, the most hateful and amoral person I have ever met. No more hatred, prejudice, discrimination in society and at work. Let us continue with puffy breasts fighting for a better, fairer and more colorful world!

Descanse em Paz, @paulogustavo31 . É triste. Inclusive por ser um dos poucos casais lgbts que teve a coragem de dar a cara neste país tão violento e homofóbico, que teve filhos lindos. E que mesmo atacados, resistiram. Aliado importante para abrir portas para outros. Quando pisar, pise firme, pise forte.

Quando quiser combater o mal, pise também firmemente sobre ele. O mal hoje em dia se manifesta no negacionismo, na religioso que fala mal do casamento LGBTQIA+ e que acredita na cura gay, que exclui minorias. O mal hoje em dia reside naquele grupo político ou religioso que não quer mulheres no poder. Que fala mal do feminismo. Que acusa ONGs e imprensa de colocarem fogo na Amazônia. O mal está naqueles que tomam terras de povos indígenas, que matam as pessoas trans, que defendem tratamento precoce contra a COVID-19, que são contra o lockdown (e governos federais como o do Brasil que não se planejaram e não oferecem subsídios para empresários e empregados para fecharem suas portas durante a maior crise de saúde do mundo, também são do time do mal). Enfim, essas pessoas são o vômito do mundo. Para isso, não há outra opção: pise firme sobre o mal, passe por cima e siga adiante, abrindo espaço para o bem!

My birthday came at one of the most difficult times in the world and in other countries, like Brazil. The smile opens up hard. Laughter is scarce. The planet full of people who deny science, education, the vaccine. Who wants to silence the culture, the press, the teachers. That accuses NGOs of setting fire to the Amazon. Cruel people. Only concerned with capital and power. One of the most tyrannical, irresponsible and genocidal Brazilian presidents in history. That denied the pandemic.

While 17.7 million live below the poverty line in Brazil. There, there are already 300,000 deaths by COVID-19. And there is no vaccination plan for the population.

While I've been isolated for a year. Emotional and business affected by the selfish choice of others. It is very difficult to survive like this. While we tried (it is the second Birthday without meeting and receiving anyone), others preferred to travel, gathering and participate in clandestine parties. We are in war. Almost no one has understood this yet.

But as my photo illustrates, my birthday happens in the wake of spring here in the northern hemisphere. I am fire, I am Aries, I am Phoenix. I am blossom, I am awakening, the resilience, the resistance. I will be reborn to celebrate life, even in the midst of war and chaos.

The sun ... a source of life. Everyone needs the transformation it promotes. Everyone deserves a place under its light. We live here in the UK for long 9 months period of cold days and high winter, with mild sunshine. I confess that I never liked to crawl in the sun and I'm not a fan of the beach. But I know its importance and power in our lives and in nature. When the Earth changes its position to receive more powerful rays from our main star, everything changes! The flowers come, the green gets more intense, the swans are born and more birds come to enjoy our spring-summer. Color and life reign. I wish everyone to enjoy this freedom and renewal that the sun brings to the Planet! And take great care of our habitat, because just as the sun is life, the excess of it aggravated by pollution, deforestation, can also be the end of human existence!

O sol... a fonte da vida. Todo mundo precisa da transformação que ele promove. Todo mundo precisa de um lugar ao sol. Vivemos aqui no Reino Unido 9 meses entre período de dias frios e alto inverno, com sol ameno. Confesso que nunca gostei de lagartear ao sol e não sou muito fã de praia. Mas sei da importância e do poder dele em nossas vidas e na natureza. Quando a terra muda sua inclinação para receber raios mais potentes da nossa Estrela-mor, tudo se transforma! As flores vem, o verde fica mais intenso, os cisnes nascem e mais pássaros vem desfrutar da nossa primavera-verão. O colorido e a vida reinam. Desejo que todos desfrutem desta liberdade e renovação que o sol traz para o planeta! E cuide bem do nosso habitat, porque assim como o sol é vida, o excesso dele agravado por poluição, desmatamentos, também pode ser o fim da existência humana!
