Surrounded by breathtaking wilderness, they continue to uphold the customs of their ancestors — from repairing the ancient mill wheel to tending the land and preparing traditional dishes.
In this video, you’ll see Petro restoring the mill, filling gaps with moss, and maintaining the mechanism that has stood the test of time. You’ll also witness the family preparing stuffed cabbage rolls (golubtsi) and preserving them in jars — enough to feed every member of the household. Behind the mill stands a centuries-old walnut tree, home to moss and birds’ nests, cared for by the entire family.
This documentary tells the story of a family for whom heritage, hard work, and love for nature have become a lifelong mission.
