2013. 512mb Vram minimum.
Why do modern games require 12GB Vram and upscaling, but they barely compete with Battlefield 4?

I feel like optimization is a lost art.

Apologies for my graphic design :))

BlenderArtists. org is removing the Game Engine category. I know BGE is long past its prime, but there was once a thriving community using it to make obscure games, rapid prototypes, and even full software.

BGMC (Blender Game Making Competition) was a staple jam hosted on the forum and was always a blast.

I personally just want one last hurrah in memory of all the history made on the forum surrounding the engine. Please let me know if anyone is keen to join in for one final jam!

Question to any developers/artists - If UE5 promised infinite geometry and unlimited light sources. Why are specs going up drastically each year? And why dont we notice improved graphics?

NEW GAME!
oby1.itch.io/lets-player-bait

Are you loud and annoying with a twitch/youtube account?

Here's free real-estate for you.

-----------

This game was a pain to make. Every step and every joke felt wrong to me, but I really wanted to shine a light on the "slop" genre plaguing itch.io , and how streamers exploit these games solely for easy jumpscares and thumbnail bait.

Regardless, please give other developers the spotlight instead, the ones who experiment and put their heart and soul into a narrative. Give non-horror games a chance. <3

I'm gonna say it.

I really enjoyed mixtape.

Didn't overstay it's welcome, from an art direction and look- it's a realtime artistic marvel.

8/10 (would've been 9, but UE5 is overkill and stutters when looking around with the camera)

Fight me on this, it's NOT a traditional game at all, but more of an interactive film that invites you to vibe along.

The whole point of the game is, it's a mashup of every cheesy indie movie- and I'm all for it.

I'll play this on any rainy day.

Addressing the complaints salty gamers have:
"It's short" - yes, and that's perfect. Take other games into account like, what remains of Edith Finch, Journey, Gone Home, ect.

"Not much gameplay" - go back to Fortnite.

"It's woke" - Nope, it's just friends willing to hold hands and talk openly. Some people might not be comfortable with that, but I think it's perfectly normal for healthy friend groups.

"It's nostalgia bait" - hell nah. It's a love letter to cheesy 90s and 80s movies. It doesn't try to be accurate at all, nor does it shove "hey, remember this?".

"It got too many high scores" - it did. And for it's category and what it set out to do- It deserved it.

"It's priced too high" - bruh. It's the price of a movie ticket with a small slushy.

"The kissing scene" - everyone loves to take it out of context. It's simular to those SpongeBob moments where they interrupt moments with whacky realistic gross paintings. It's a bit of shock value, and personally the joke landed.

Again, you don't have to agree to anything if you're not into a genre of films/games/music.

Enjoy your life and stop following hate trends ❤️
