📗 Excel Formula of the Day: SUMIFS (16 Oct 2026)
Adds up numbers only for rows that meet ALL your conditions — e.g. sales of Laptops in the North region.
🧮 Syntax: =SUMIFS(sum_range, criteria_range1, criteria1, [criteria_range2, criteria2], ...)
📌 Example: =SUMIFS(C2:C6, A2:A6, "North", B2:B6, "Laptop") → 80,000 (50,000 + 30,000)
Where you use it:
✅ Total sales by region AND product for a monthly report
✅ Sum expenses by department and month
✅ Add up pending invoices for one customer
💡 Tip: The SUM range comes FIRST in SUMIFS (unlike SUMIF). All ranges must be the same size.

CALCULATE changes the filter, then calculates your measure. 4 patterns you will use every week:
✅ One region: CALCULATE([Total Sales], Sales[Region] = "West")
✅ Ignore filters: CALCULATE([Total Sales], ALL(Sales))
✅ % of total: DIVIDE([Total Sales], [All Sales])
✅ Last year: CALCULATE([Total Sales], SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR('Date'[Date]))

📗 Excel Formula of the Day: XLOOKUP (15 Oct 2026)
Finds a value in one column and returns the matching value from another column — left or right, no column numbers.
🧮 Syntax: =XLOOKUP(lookup_value, lookup_array, return_array, [if_not_found])
📌 Example: =XLOOKUP("P-103", A2:A5, C2:C5, "Not found") → ₹9,500
Where you use it:
✅ Get a product's price from its ID in a sales sheet
✅ Fetch an employee's department or salary from an ID
✅ Replace VLOOKUP — it can look to the LEFT too
💡 Tip: Use the 4th argument for a clean message instead of #N/A when the value is missing.
