Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 | “Seva Hi Sanskriti”

As part of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, Sangeet Natak Akademi is presenting a series of Nukkad Natak performances across the country from 22–30 September 2026, highlighting the theme “Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi – Swachhta Ki Nayi Kahani”. The initiative seeks to promote the values of cleanliness, development and heritage through the powerful medium of theatre and community engagement.

Through compelling performances in public spaces, the campaign aims to inspire civic responsibility and public participation while celebrating the spirit of service embodied in “Seva Hi Sanskriti”.

माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी के जन्मदिन के अवसर पर संगीत नाटक अकादेमी ,नई दिल्ली द्वारा ‘आशीर्वाद का दीया’ कार्यक्रम का आयोजन रवीन्द्र भवन स्थित मेघदूत थिएटर में किया गया। इस अवसर पर दीप प्रज्ज्वलित कर प्रधानमंत्री जी के प्रति शुभाशीष एवं मंगलकामनाएँ व्यक्त की गईं।

कार्यक्रम में श्री राव इंद्रजीत सिंह माननीय राज्य मंत्री योजना, सांख्यिकी एवं कार्यक्रम कार्यान्वयन (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) तथा माननीय संस्कृति राज्य मंत्री, भारत सरकार; श्री के.के. मिश्रा, संयुक्त सचिव, संस्कृति मंत्रालय; श्री अनीश पी. राजन, निदेशक, संस्कृति मंत्रालय; डॉ. संध्या पुरेचा, अध्यक्ष, संगीत नाटक अकादेमी; तथा श्री राजू दास, सचिव, संगीत नाटक अकादेमी की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति रही।

Sangeet Natak Akademi deeply mourns the passing of Shri Gopiram Borgayan, eminent exponent of the traditional music of Assam and recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Tagore Award.

Shri Borgayan made a distinguished contribution to the preservation and propagation of Assam’s rich musical heritage. Through his lifelong dedication to monastic musical traditions, Sattriya arts and the training of younger generations, he played an important role in carrying these traditions to audiences across India and beyond. His artistic legacy and service to the traditional music of Assam will be remembered with great respect and admiration.

Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends and admirers. May the Almighty grant them strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may his soul rest in peace.

Sangeet Natak Akademi and its associate bodies deeply mourn the passing of Shri Chidambar Rao Jambe, eminent theatre director, cultural administrator, and recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Direction (2014).

A distinguished figure in Indian theatre, Shri Chidambar Rao Jambe devoted his life to the advancement of theatre through his work as a director, educator, mentor and administrator. His enduring contributions to Kannada theatre, children’s theatre, and theatre education enriched the cultural landscape of the nation and inspired generations of theatre practitioners.
