Melchester is the name of my 00 gauge loft based model railway. Set somewhere in Wessex, it was the name given by the Author Thomas Hardy to the Market Town of Salisbury. Melchester is a Southern Region steam era railway set sometime in the 1950's. I also occasionally operate Diesel and Electric locomotives from the BR Blue era of the 1980's.

Here are some pictures from my new video "In Search of Mrs Wilberforce's House" coming out on 1st June at 9pm. The video is about the area around Kings Cross station where The Lady Killers was filmed. I track down the exact spot where Mrs Wilberforce's house once stood, and discover what remains of the site today.

A gorgeous day (finally) for sitting in the garden and brushing up on my research in anticipation of the arrival of KR Models release of the LEADER locomotive. The book is by Kevin Robertson and is absolutely fascinating. I'd highly recommend it for anybody interested in the strangest of Bulleid's locomotive innovations.
