If you're planning a trip to Thailand, here's an important change you need to know.
Since 15 September 2026, eligible travellers, including those from the UK, US, Canada and Australia, now receive 30 days visa-free on arrival.
But there’s good news…
You can apply in Thailand for up to another 30 days, potentially giving you 60 days in total without applying for a visa before travelling.
However, the extra 30 days isn't automatic — it’s subject to approval by Thai Immigration, and the current extension fee is 1,900 baht.
And remember, you may need proof of onward travel within your initial 30 days.
So, in short: 30 days on arrival, plus up to 30 days extension — potentially 60 days in Thailand!
Always check the latest official rules before you travel.

Thailand’s 60-day visa exemption has now changed to 30 days for eligible nationalities, including UK passport holders. The new rules took effect on 15 September 2026.
What does it mean?
🇹🇭 You can still enter Thailand visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days.
What should you do?
✈️ Staying longer than 30 days? Check the appropriate visa/extension options before travelling.
📝 You must also complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arrival.
Effective: 15 September 2026.
