To the saints that like to call people names like witch, warlock, Jezebel, Arab, “those people” and the like:
When Jesus met the woman at the well or the woman caught in adultery did he called them adulteresses? When he met someone who was blind or lame did he call them disabled or crippled? When he met those who was overtaken with demons did he call them possessed? In fact after Judas betrayed him, he turned around and called Judas friend.
However those who thought they were above others, those who operated and arrogance and pride, those who forgot their need for salvation or forgot the purpose of their religious duty, he called stank and vipers. And he also compared them to graveyards and cemeteries and called them a wicked, sign seeking generation.
I think it would be fair to say that Jesus is really not into name calling. Besides quite honestly, I’m sure that even now with our sanctified selves that there are some negative names he can call us. In fact if He would call us out, like so many of us take pleasure in doing to others, many of us would be utterly embarrassed. I don’t think name-calling is a part of the Great Commission.
