Georgie had never made jewellery before coming to my ring making class in Yandina on the Sunshine Coast. This was her first time using the lost wax build up technique, and look at the organic silver ring she created! 😍
Take a look at these images to see her wax sculpture, the raw 925 sterling silver casting and the finished polished ring. Want to try sculpting your own silver ring? You can learn with my beginner’s online lost wax jewellery course, or register your interest for future in person classes. ✨

Can you use natural stones when it comes to making jewellery using lost wax techniques?

The answer is yes!

Using natural stones in designs is a great way to create one of a kind pieces. A lot of natural stone have their own unique characteristics, unlike lab grown stones which are often more “perfect”.

The uniqueness of a natural, irregular stone perfectly complements the organic shapes and textures that can be achieved through the lost wax casting process.

Together they create jewellery that is completely unique, with no two pieces ever identical.
