His whole life is performative, he wears many masks, he cosplays a business man, he cosplays an involved dad, he cosplays a supportive partner, but he really does love music, that's real. Since he's been disingenuous for so long that he can't connect with the thing that he loves. His dissociating from everything because you can't keep faking it and create something real. That's my two cents. He resents everyone who made it, so does his new partner. They want to capture the essence of their peers but they can't so they keep feeding off of each other. Suckling each other dry. Now they resent and blame each other for their losses. It's been so interesting to watch. I was a couples counselor for years. It's sad though because he's stealing her youth, her wealth, her life, her energy. I hope she figures life out soon.
