Thank you guys so much for all the movie suggestions and the positive response to my 300th episode of Speedrunning Movie Reviews; by far my biggest episode to date! I honestly cannot believe that the series has made it this far... and exactly 3000 unique films reviewed! I wanted so badly to reach that milestone without needing to delay it, and I was just able to do so! And I managed to come across some pretty awesome films as well!
And so now that that milestone has been reached, now's a good oppurtunity to give you guys a minor channel update.
First off, the "Garfield" project. I know it's been slow coming out... part of that has been the result of burnout, and a really bad case of writer's block. I am setting some time aside this week to get back to writing the script, and get those creative juices flowing again, and I thank you for your patience on that. I will keep you guys posted as soon as something major is accomplished.
Second, both the Speedrunning Movie Review series and the 30 Seconds videos will be put on a temporary hiatus. This is for a couple of reasons. The first is to clear up some extra time so that I can actually work on the "Garfield" project without feeling burned out. And the second is so that I can take just some time to just watch whatever movies I feel like watching, without feeling like it needs to be for a specific video. If you're curious about what I'm watching or what I think about it, you can always check out my Letterboxd page; letterboxd.com/thehickcritic/. There's also a backlog of hundreds of reviews for you to find, including some more in-depth thoughts for some of the films I've reviewed on Speedrunning Movie Reviews. I don't know for sure how long the hiatus will last, but both of these types of videos will return.
Third, the Daily Double Movie Facts, and the MGM Review Shorts will continue daily, that way you're still getting something from me every day while I work on the "Garfield" project.
Once again, thank you guys so much for the support, the patience, and your willingness to offer me suggestions and film recommendations! I just recently crossed 80,000 subscribers, and it's still unfathomable to me that this channel is that big and is continuing to grow! And that wouldn't possible without you guys! Thank you!

I began working on the script for my next big project video today. After not having written an actual in-depth review in quite a while, I was worried I'd be a bit rusty and I wouldn't have much to say. And of course... I ended up writing the longest review I've ever written.
I would like some genuine, honest feedback about this. If you watch my "Speedrunning Movie Reviews" series, you might have noticed that I made a tweak to the text in today's video, namely that I made the black outline on the words thicker. I've actually been wanting to make this change for a while, because I've felt the text in these videos was a little bit too flat and blended too much into the background. So what do you think? Is this a change for the better? Should I go back to the way it originally was and not try to make any improvements? Or is this change a good idea, but I shouldn't make it this thick? I'm probably going to be experimenting for the next few videos, and I'd like to know what you guys think about it. And you don't think you have to spare my feelings on this (honestly, I wouldn't be a very good critic if I couldn't take constructive criticism myself)... give me your honest feedback and opinion on this change. The video has come a long way in just a week. The editing on the actual ranking itself is complete. That was going to be the most time-consuming part, and it's finally out of the way.
And now it's time to direct my attention to the audience rankings. I've spent the whole day just going through the audience rankings that have already been sent to me (106 in total so far) and I have been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of votes so far (in a good way). Going through your lists have been equal parts entertaining and fascinating! There was more than I was expecting, so I'm going to have work hard to make sure this gets done in a timely manner.
Speaking of the audience rankings... this is both your 24 hour notice and final reminder... if you want your Top 10 Best and Top 10 Worst MGM cartoons to be considered in the video, then you need to vote now. Voting will be closing at 11:59 PM CDT on April 21st. Any votes cast after that time will not be considered. So as of the writing of this, you will have 27 hours to complete the form.

Once again, I'm not ready to give a hard release date yet, but the date is fast approaching, and I am expecting (without promising it) to be released sometime in April.
