Rest Well, Soldier 🕊️

Exactly a year ago—on a Sunday like this, 2nd February 2025—under the scorching sun ☀️ at Nsoatre, you met an untimely death. A moment that still feels unreal, a wound that time hasn’t healed. Continue to rest well, my brother Nana Pooley 💔❤️🙏.

That day, the match wasn’t on TV. I couldn’t watch, so I followed it through live commentary while studying—because I had an examination to write the next morning (Monday). Football and books shared my attention, until life suddenly demanded all of it.

In the middle of the commentary, the shocking words came: someone had been stabbed. My heart sank. I stopped everything. Football could wait—life matters. I rushed to Facebook, searching for clarity, praying it was just a scare. The first post I saw read, “Pray for Pooley”, shared by @Brightawuahbrighto (journalist).

Within a minute, the page refreshed. Hope disappeared. The rumours were confirmed. You didn’t survive.

A brother lost. A soldier fallen. A painful silence where your voice once stood. We remember not just the moment we lost you, but the strength, loyalty, and passion you carried.

Sleep peacefully, Nana Pooley.
You are remembered.
You are missed.
You are honoured. 🕊️❤️
