This is incredibly hard. Barry J. Gillis, our Cat Emperor, had to be put to rest last night.
The damage to his kidneys was severe, and even with treatment and hospitalization, he would have had no quality of life or life expectancy.
It all seemed to onset very suddenly, and we were living in our family assuming we'd have many more years all together. We're devastated, and it's going to be a minute before I'm back to business as normal.
So please, obey him one last time, and give a lot of love to your family, especially the furry ones.

I feel a little silly doing this, but, Beaty and I know probably a lot of people would want to know.
Barry, our Cat Emperor, is not doing well. He's still with us, but after taking him for what we thought was going to be getting just a sinus infection sorted out yesterday, we got his blood work back this morning and it turns out he has extremely severe kidney disease.
This is a huge shock to us, because we have no idea what may have caused it, and up until a couple days ago we had no idea anything was really wrong with him.
We've opted to have him hospitalized in hopes that he will respond to treatment. His doctor has let us know the chances aren't great, probably 25% at best, but he's young, he's scrappy, and up until very recently seemed perfectly healthy, so we want to do everything we can to give him the best chance.
So whatever things you observe to put good juju into the universe, please send a little bit his way. We're doing everything we can to have him here to obey for as long as we can.
