After literally years of requests the Art for Joy’s Sake Watercolor Booster Palette is here.

❤️Let me tell you a story.

🎨In 2020 when my wedding stationery business was hanging on by a thread and lots of loans I decided to put a set of brushes into production but what I’ve never told you is this. The Art for Joy’s Sake Palette was already developed then and I’d been painting with it for a better part of a year…. But for market specific reasons that have nothing to do with painting it was clear the brushes had to come first.

❤️So in 2022 when the palette launched it truly was like my first and biggest dream had come true. And the response was staggering. My community loved the palette but so did strangers who just happened to find the pretty photos on Amazon.

🎨And so we’re here now with 7 new colors that this community helped chose AND name.

❤️A full circle moment indeed in Watercolorland.
www.amazon.com/Paintcrush-Watercolor-Booster-color…

Each color is designed to work beautifully with and enhance the versatility of the original set.

These paints are professional quality, yes indeed, in my estimation based on how they function. These paints are non toxic and made using gum arabic. They’ve been third party tested for toxicity and confirm to ASTM-D 4236 standards.

Each color was given a name just for funsies.
Two of the names in particular mean the most to me:

💙Hevel and 🧡Hoodoo

Hevel is a word that’s found 38 times in the book of Ecclesiastes. It’s a word used to describe those things that will fade away; meaningless, worldly things. When first making my way through Ecclesiastes I was struck by its heaviness, its ability to make me feel like nothing here on earth mattered. But when I did a quick word study on Hevel I discovered a deeper much more uplifting meaning. This world and all its troubles is indeed…fleeting. However, our time here is best spent loving and living for people… those who we know well and see every day and those we’ve never met. This world will pass away, but loving people lives forever in ways we can’t even imagine.

Hoodoo is a spire-like geological formation that has a strong stone cap that is resistant to erosion. A hoodoo is tall, often fragile appearin g but its covered with strong protection from the elements. And so hoodoos stand long beyond what your eye might perceive their abilities. The word hoodoo hold personal meaning for my husband and I as two hiking fiends but at the same time it’s metaphor for resilience. We can all thrive in the harshest of climates, with just the right protection.

Watercolor Joy in Scotland!

Imagine 17 like-minded watercolor obsessed empaths running amuck in the Scottish Highlands?! Dreamy right?

This week I’m in a fairyland of spattered paint, seemingly constant laughter and deeply engaging art making.

Uptrek retreats thrive not by accident but on purpose because they consider every detail, every emotion… every space - all designed to immerse us in art making the likes a screen to screen experience simply cannot replicate.

Greece is my next stop, and I’d love to see you there so I can teach you my wild and whimsical way of deepening your watercolor practice.

Learn more at the link below or finally hit the register button you’ve been wanting to all along.

Join our advent waitlist now!

mailchi.mp/4ad8a28442fd/advent-cal-waitlist-2026

Okay, friends — I know Summer is still in full swing and you’re thinking about iced coffee and pool days, not the holidays. But I need you to understand: this year’s advent calendar has completely taken over the studio, and the excitement in here is impossible to keep quiet about any longer.

We’re going bigger than ever. Presales will begin early September and quantities will be very limited — like, don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-it limited. We’re once again spotlighting incredible small businesses, but this year we’re also unveiling brand-new designs of our own that we have never shown anyone. Not a peek, not a teaser. You’ll be seeing them for the very first time.

This is a supply-driven collection through and through, which means once it’s gone, it’s genuinely gone. No restock. No “maybe next batch.”

So what questions do you have and are you excited!!!!????

Watercolor Joy, you, me, one week in Greece. Let’s do this.

uptrek.com/retreat/brushstrokes-of-joy-art-retreat…

Let me paint you a picture of what this week actually looks like.

You wake up in a cliffside Greek villa with sweeping views of the Aegean Sea. You have your morning coffee on the terrace. And then you come to our sea-facing art studio — where the light is extraordinary and everything you need is already waiting — and we paint.

Each session builds on the last. We cover watercolor foundations, color mixing, how to paint landscapes and architecture on location and in the comfort of our studio. We’ll practice capturing water and reflections with loose expressive brushwork, and how to hand letter your own travel journal so it tells the full story of your week. Of course there will be watercolor fruit and flowers too❤️🌹🍓🍒because it’s me after all 🥰

🛑What this retreat is NOT:
Jam packed with too much…
While our days center on learning, the pace is quiet. Slow.

A sightseeing-bucket list sprint…
We will enjoy 3 excursions together but spaced and timed so we can still rest, rejuvenate and find quiet places in our days.

A place to figure it all out…
You will leave a “better” artist than when you arrived easily, but our time together transcends a scorecard of skills.

A place to show off…
We’re learning, stumbling and rejoicing wins. Together!

✅What this retreat is:
- A week of lessons designed to evolve for and with you as we get to know eachother

- A place to finally connect with like-minded artists chasing joy through watercolor

- A place to rejuvenate your artist mind and spirit.
