Getting brown or black with henna + indigo is all about timing. Here's the exact schedule we use:
- Henna dye release: 6-12 hrs
- Henna on hair: 2-4 hrs
- Indigo rest: 10-15 min (mix it right before you apply)
- Indigo on hair: 1 hr = dark brown, 2 hrs = black
- No shampoo for 48-72 hrs while the indigo oxidizes
Green-looking hair on day one is normal. Give it 72 hours.
