Welcome to Psych2Go! We are a grassroot organization with the mission of making psychology, mental health, and self-discovery accessible, relatable, and a little less lonely.
The founder initially a psychology student, found that psychology is super useful, but unfortunately wasn't accessible to the public like it is today. Through collaborative effort, him and a bunch of animators, students, made bite-sized, animated videos, to explore topics like anxiety, depression, trauma healing, relationships, emotional intelligence, self-love, communication skills, ADHD, autism, introversion, and more.
Our iconic sprout mascot represents growth, resilience, and the hope that—with the right care—we can all thrive.
Why subscribe? Because Psych2Go isn’t just a channel. It’s a global mental wellness community, where everyone can feel seen.
Let’s grow together, one mind at a time. 🌱✨

Hi everyone!
Over the past three months, we’ve been reflecting on how to make Psych2Go financially sustainable beyond YouTube ad revenue. Over the last three years, funding has been extremely difficult, almost leading to our closure. However, your incredible comments and support renewed our passion for making mental health education accessible to everyone.
To create a predictable, reliable income stream, we’re looking into a monthly subscription model.
While we’re still finalizing the details, potential future perks for members could include:
1) Exclusive Merch: A monthly Psych2Go t-shirt or sweater sent to you or a friend.
2) Personalized Cards: Handwritten birthday or mental wellness cards sent to someone you care about.
3) Digital Magazine: A monthly digital publication delivered right to your inbox.
Right now, we’re launching a $1/month tier simply to gauge interest and commitment. While there are no perks attached just yet, your $1 support will mean the world to us, and we’ll give you a shoutout on the channel! Every dollar goes directly back into improving the channel, developing wellness products, and planning in-person experiences.
Free Content Stays Free: Our regular YouTube videos will always remain 100% free.
Business & Self-Employed Supporters: Supporting us may qualify as a tax write-off/business expense, making this a win-win way to help keep the channel thriving!
Giving Back: Once we reach profitability, we plan to host contests and offer prizes for our loyal supporters.
If you can’t support financially right now, leaving a comment on this post helps boost engagement tremendously! Thank you for walking this journey with us. We also welcome and read your ideas. Thank you to everyone who previously did. You partly inspired this!
We will post the link in the pinned comment so this post can reach more people (Youtube hates links lol)

Hey guys! I know it's been 2 weeks since we've last posted. We are still around. We are doing livestreams for now: youtube.com/live/ZOXNFs4kjAc?si=Q1SjspijUa5lPb-1 (They are more cost effective and also you can engage us with questions too) We feel this would be more beneficial on top of meeting one of our amazing team members!) We hope you enjoy these livestreams as much as we do. And please tell us how you have been? Has everything been okay?

Hey, Psych2Goers! 💛
We’ve been thinking about how we can continue creating thoughtful and accessible mental health content when YouTube ad revenue does not fully cover the cost of production.
Many of our video ideas come directly from you. For example, someone recently asked:
“For a future video, could you discuss the things parents may do, often without realizing it, that can hurt their autistic children? I think this could help neurodivergent people who struggle with these experiences.”
We believe this is an important topic, and we would love to create a thoughtful and respectful video about it. The challenge is that we cannot always predict how many people a video will reach or whether its ad revenue will cover the cost of making it.
A typical Psych2Go video costs approximately or average $500 USD to produce. This includes research, writing, illustration, animation, voice acting, editing, project management, platform fees, and coordinating the creative team.
Because of this, we have been exploring a community supported production model.
Topics receiving the most requests and votes could be presented to the community for funding. If enough people choose to support a topic, we can move forward with producing it. Supporters could receive recognition, progress updates, behind the scenes content, or other community benefits.
We have also wondered whether supporters could receive a portion of a video’s future revenue based on how much they contributed, after expense.
However, revenue sharing may involve significant legal, tax, accounting, and payment processing requirements. Tracking contributions and sending payments to many people every few months may also become difficult as the community grows. For now, this is only an idea we are researching. It is not a confirmed program or financial offer.
Ideally, we would love to create a simple recurring support model. Having reliable monthly support would help us plan future videos, pay our creative team fairly, and cover production costs without depending entirely on the performance of each individual video.
In the future, we may also explore creating a charitable organization. This could allow individuals and companies to support our mental health education work more formally. We would need to carefully research the legal and financial requirements first.
Most importantly, we want to hear from you.
Would you support a community funded Psych2Go video?
What benefits would make supporting our content meaningful to you?
Would you prefer a monthly membership, a one time contribution, merch, sponsor recognition, or another option?
If you have a simpler or better idea, we would genuinely love to hear it. Our goal is to continue creating content that helps people feel understood while fairly paying the writers, artists, animators, editors, voice artists, and managers who bring each video to life.
Thank you for helping us imagine the next chapter of Psych2Go.

A month ago, we seriously considered shutting down Psych2Go, specifically its operation.
Rising production costs, limited funding, and the challenge of finding meaningful new topics after creating more than 3,000 videos over the past 7 years left us wondering if we had reached the end of the road. We didn't want to keep making videos that felt repetitive or lacked purpose.
But then we read your comments.
Your messages, feedback, and encouragement reminded us why we started this channel in the first place. They gave us the motivation to keep creating, keep experimenting, and keep trying to make videos that genuinely help people.
So... we're not done yet.
Thank you for believing in us, even during a time when we weren't sure we believed in ourselves. We can't promise every video will be perfect, but we can promise we'll keep listening, learning, and doing our best.
If you have a few minutes, we'd really appreciate it if you checked out our latest video. We'd also love to hear your honest thoughts on it, it'll help us figure out where to take Psych2Go next.

Hey everyone! We’ve been thinking a lot about how Psych2Go can continue creating meaningful content for many years to come in a way that’s sustainable.
One idea we’re really excited about is expanding beyond YouTube by creating wellness merchandise, thoughtful products, and even workshops around the world. Our hope is that these aren’t just things to buy, but items that genuinely bring comfort, encourage reflection, and help support mental well-being.
We’d also love to make this community-driven. For every purchase, a portion would go toward funding videos and mental health topics that you vote for. That way, you’re helping shape what we create next while making Psych2Go less dependent on YouTube’s ups and downs.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d be happy to put together a form later this week so you can leave your email and be the first to hear about new ideas, products, and future workshops.
And if you have experience with product design, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, fulfillment, or building an e-commerce brand, we’d genuinely love to hear from you too. Psych2Go has always grown because of this amazing community, and we’d love to build this next chapter together.
Let us know what you think; we’re excited to hear your ideas!

A very special birthday shoutout goes to our wonderful channel host, Monica, who has been leading our Ask an Expert livestream series since 2021. Thank you, Monica, for your kindness, dedication, and for sharing your heart with our community over the years.
And to everyone who has watched our videos, shared them with someone who needed them, left a kind comment, or simply been here with us, thank you. Your love and support have meant more than words can express.

Going through all of your comments this afternoon has honestly made this decision so much harder.
For the past few months, we’ve been struggling with whether we should continue Psych2Go or move on and focus on our own lives and new projects. It’s not because we’ve stopped caring. It’s because we’re genuinely torn.
The reality is that the channel has been losing money for a while now (3 years to be exact) and on top of that we’ve been receiving a lot more hate over things we truly believed were helping more people than they were hurting. We listened, made changes, tried to improve, and so many of you told us we were heading in the right direction. But even with all of that, we’re still left wondering what the right thing to do is.
Life has also changed for us. Most of the founding team aren’t in our early or even mid-20s anymore. Back then, it was easier to pour everything we had into a passion project without worrying so much about the future. Now we have people who depend on us, our own well-being to think about, and other opportunities we’ve put aside for years. Those things matter too.
Reading all of your comments today has honestly been overwhelming in the best way. Seeing how many of you shared your stories and told us that Psych2Go helped you through some of your darkest moments has warmed our hearts more than you know.
No matter what happens, we want you to know that we’re incredibly grateful. Thank you for sticking with us through the years, for believing in what we do, and for reminding us why we started this channel in the first place.
We’re still talking. We’re still thinking. We honestly don’t know what we’re going to do yet.
But we wanted you to know that we’re reading every comment, and they mean the world to us. ❤️

Hey everyone,
We wanted to be transparent with you about something we’ve been struggling with behind the scenes.
Making Psych2Go videos has become increasingly difficult to sustain financially. As the YouTube landscape changes, AI-generated channels are producing content at a much lower cost, while our videos continue to be created by real writers, artists, animators, editors, voice actors, and researchers. At the same time, we’ve also received criticism for using titles and thumbnails that are designed to help our videos reach more people, even though discoverability on YouTube has become more competitive than ever.
Each Psych2Go video costs roughly CAD $500–$1,000 to produce. Because mental health content generally earns a lower RPM than many other YouTube niches, we typically need around 250,000 views on a video just to break even.
We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who’s supported us over the years. Your comments, shares, and kind words have kept us going longer than you know.
We’d really love to hear from you. What would you like to see from Psych2Go moving forward? Are there changes you’d like us to make? Different types of content? More shorts? Longer videos? Memberships? We’d genuinely appreciate your thoughts as we figure out the best path forward.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
