Starting in 2007 with a corporate career at PWC, David quit his job and went abroad to teach English in Thailand in 2011.

I've been off on a side quest and I'm back. That side quest? Jumping into Amazon KDP and learning everything possible.
So far I published 4 books (Kindle and paperback) over the last 3 weeks. Each book is around 30k words, 150ish pages for a $4.99 price point. Right now I'm just letting Amazon do it's thing before I do any promotions.
KDP is super similar to niche websites (which have died off). With KDP, like a niche website, you want to build a brand not just lazy AI slop published in a book.
You start with building out a series of books around a topic and author (the author bio is like the website, the books are like the blog posts, formatting the books properly is like web design.).
You also have to do keyword research so you know what books on what topics to write. Just like a website you can't wing it and write about whatever you want.
There are a bunch of tools to help you do keyword research as well.
So far, I like KDP. It's competitive, it's a bit saturated, BUT a good book that ranks well and get organic sales is an asset. Expect content on KDP as I get more results for myself and learn from making mistakes.

You've seen the YouTube product shelf no doubt. Most on here use it to promote merchandise or digital products. I was curious as to how everything works on the back end.
Well you'll need to use an ecommerce platform and for that I choose to create a tutorial video on using Fourthwall: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1xRB...
Its a totally free platform to build an online store to sell courses, digital products, print on demand merchandise as well as memberships.
Once setup and once your YouTube channel has at least 500 subscribers you'll be able to link your store to YouTube shopping so you can have a dedicated, optimized section on your channel to sell digital products.
